Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Daisy Ridley, and Jeff Goldblum Announced as Celebrity Guest Judges on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Season 12

Put on a lash and style your best wig, the next season of RuPaul’s Emmy award-winning reality series premieres during February 2020. Now, fans have their first look into season 12 of Drag Race, thanks to a teaser and videos from a few celebrity guest judges.

Here’s our list of the celebrity guest judges on upcoming episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Are you ready for more charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent? This February, a brand-new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race premieres on Logo, complete with a handful of new queens ready to prove they’re America’s Next Drag Superstar.

Rest assured this season will include plenty of death drops, splits, and gag-worthy moments. Thanks to one of the trailers for RuPaul’s Drag Race, fans saw a few of the queens as they walked into the Werk Room, in addition to a few musicians, politicians, and actors behind the judge’s panel.

“Our producers have come up with twisted, outrageous challenges that raise the bar for all competition of reality,” RuPaul said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Our celebrity guest judges are truly legendary. And this cast of queens is, dare I say, the most talented we’ve ever had. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a fresh crop of queens arrives and blows our minds all over again.”

The features judges will be Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Ross Mathews, and the fabulous host of the series, RuPaul. In true Drag Race fashion, the series invites celebrities to critique queens on their runway looks. With the teaser trailer, fans saw a few familiar faces joining RuPaul and her crew.

This season includes guest judges Nicki Minaj, Whoopi Goldberg, Chaka Khan, Robyn, Leslie Jones, Normani, Jeff Goldblum, Daisy Ridley, Thandie Newton, Olivia Munn, Rachel Bloom, Daniel Franzese, Jonathan Bennett, and Winnie Harlow.

In the past, celebrity stars on this series included Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, and Ariana Grande. Additionally, political figures, like Nancy Pelosi, appeared during previous seasons. For the first time ever, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will be a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, surprising and delighting some fans.

United States Representative, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will be a guest judge for ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’

One of the guest judges for RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 comes hot off of Bernie Sanders’ campaign trail — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
This is not the first time Ocasio-Cortez shared her love for the drag performers on this series. In 2019, she attended the live show of season 9 winner, Sasha Velour.

“I’m like that Lady Gaga moment,” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said during a video alongside the queen. “Stunning, amazing, impeccable, genius.”

While season 11 was still ongoing, the United States Representative made an Instagram story supporting contestant Nina West. It’s unclear the order these guest judges will appear alongside Ru on the panel. However, Nicki Minaj shared that she will be featured during the first episode of this season.

RuPaul’s Drag Race premieres on Feb. 28, 2020 on VH1. Until then, fans can stream episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked on the WOW Presents YouTube channel.
