All the Ways Kate Middleton Is Helping Meghan Markle Adjust To Life As a Royal

Ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their engagement in November 2017 (and later walked down the aisle in May 2018) , the public has wanted to learn as much as possible about the woman set to become the newest member of the British royal family.

We know that Markle was an actress who had to quit her job to prepare for her life as a royal and undergo intensive training. Now, it’s been reported that she is getting expert tips and guidance from a someone who was in her exact position not long ago.

Kate Middleton has been offering her assistance in helping Markle adjust to life in the royal family. Here’s more on that and how the women have bonded over the last few months.

Soon after they announced their engagement, moving trucks were spotted bringing Markle’s things to Nottingham Cottage where Prince Harry has lived since 2013. The property is located on the grounds of Kensington Palace, which is where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge reside.

A source revealed to Us Weekly that the former Suits star often makes the short walk there to have tea with her sister-in-law, and Middleton “will give Meghan advice about adapting to the royal family.”

Prince Harry has always had a good relationship with his brother’s wife. The two have been so close that he has spoken to Middleton about his relationships over the years. So it only made sense that the duchess would be introduced first to anyone he got serious with.

Well, Middleton was indeed one of the first people to meet Markle. An insider told E! News that their initial meeting happened in January 2017 and everything “went very well. Kate was delighted to finally get to meet the woman that had Harry smiling so much.”

In their post-engagement interview, Harry and Markle also discussed the duke and duchess meeting the actress before everyone else. “I’d been seeing her for a period of time when I literally didn’t tell anybody at all,” Harry explained. “And then William was longing to meet her and so was Catherine … we managed to get that in a couple of — well, quite a few times now, and Catherine has been absolutely … amazing, as has William as well, you know, fantastic support.”

Markle’s royal training consisted of everything from learning how to curtsy to what to do in a hostage situation, which is the same training Middleton went through before she married William in 2011. In fact, a source told Us Weekly that “the aides advising Meghan now are of the same position at the palace as the ones who advised Kate when she first got engaged.”

So, there’s no one better to get tips from than the duchess herself who reportedly told Markle, “if she ever needed anything, she shouldn’t hesitate to get in touch.”

It’s not just Middleton who offered to give tips and advice about all things royal to Markle. Prince William has also offered to help his brother’s wife in any way he can.

Sources revealed that William has been there for Markle whenever she needed anything saying, “Harry made sure that his brother and sister-in-law are both available to Meghan. You can’t trust anyone more than family.”

Like Markle, Middleton was a commoner before she married Prince William. So she understands more than anyone how much Markle’s life is going to change, and this is something they have bonded over.

Not even Sarah Ferguson or the late Princess Diana were in the same boat as Markle because they each came from aristocratic backgrounds. Therefore, Middleton is the one person who the former actress can turn to who can really empathize with things she might be feeling and likely answer any questions Markle may have.

Another thing the ladies may bond over beside marrying into royalty is their shared interests. On top of being animal lovers and having a passion for helping children, the two women are very into fashion. The Duchess of Cambridge has become a style icon in England over the years and now, even before she married the prince, it seems that Markle has achieved that as well.

Whenever Middleton makes a public appearance, her outfits usually sell out within hours, and the same can be said for Markle’s attire. Anyone hoping to snag something the royal is seen wearing needs to act quickly because it won’t be in stock for long.

They have been called the ‘Fab Four’ or ‘Core Four’

Before even venturing out to events together, Harry, Markle, Middleton, and William were dubbed the “Fab Four” or the “Core Four,” so the first time we saw them all in public together was exciting.

The foursome was at the Royal Foundation Forum event on Feb. 28, 2018, and those in attendance clearly saw that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge behaved like old friends with Harry’s now-wife. This left no doubt that Markle will settle into life with the royal family just fine.
