‘America’s Got Talent’ Fans Say This Judge Is ‘Annoying’ & ‘Frustrating’

After fourteen successful seasons on the air, America’s Got Talent remains one of the most-watched reality competition shows on TV, competing with the likes of The Voice and So You Think You Can Dance. From Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell to Gabrielle Union, Julianne Hough, and Mel B, the talent competition series has seen its fair share of judges — many entertaining and enjoyable, others a bit more irksome.

While many fans argue that certain judges do not add to the show, fans have begun to feel that one judge, in particular, worsens the series.

When it comes to America’s Got Talent, which judge do fans find most irritating? It may come as a surprise, but many fans have grown to dislike the one judge who, arguably, is most well-practiced in this specific arena — the judging gig that is. Fans have, in large part, recently begun to feel that Simon Cowell detracts from the series.

Why fans have grown to consider Simon Cowell ‘annoying’ and ‘frustrating’ on ‘America’s Got Talent’

If you scroll through various discussions concerning the judges on America’s Got Talent, a few trends emerge — Howie Mandel may be funny but doesn’t add much to the show. Mel B can be a bit over-the-top, which is sometimes enjoyable, yet other times unwarranted. However, Simon Cowell has simply got too much pull and brings an unwanted shtick to the table. One America’s Got Talent viewer, when noting his least favorite judge, stated:

Mine is Simon (It’s obvious to me that he exercises too much pull over the other judges and the show in general). Would love it if Howard came back in his place.

When it comes to Simon Cowell, many fans feel that he retains too much power in the series, noting that his whole stopping-the-contestants-mid-performance routine, has merely become an old hat showbiz gig. One viewer noted:

Right now, Simon is frustrating with the stopping of the show to give some singers a second chance. Also, he praises singers he would have ripped apart in the past. He mellowed out too much. He’s the only one to not press a buzzer in judges cuts so far. I also feel like he doesn’t gel with the judges that well.

Several AGT enthusiasts feel that Simon Cowell, in addition to stopping performances like clockwork, does not blend with the other coaches often on the panel, and feels a bit too calm, cool, and collected. Has Cowell lost his flair for mean and sarcastic commentary?

Many other America’s Got Talent fans agree that the Simon Cowell becomes more and more bothersome each time he stops a contestant, noting that he can just be “very annoying at times…” If Simon Cowell wants to climb back up to the top concerning fans’ approval, he may have to quit stopping contestants mid-performance. It feels staged, and it lost its appeal a long time ago. However, Simon is the man in charge, so, how much can we expect to change?
