Amy Duggar is Expecting Her First Child
Truly, it seems like every day one of the Duggars announces that they are pregnant or just had a baby. But one Duggar that no one thought would be getting pregnant soon was “rebellious” Amy Duggar King.
Amy and her husband Dillon King just announced that they are having a child together.
“We are completely speechless, overly excited and ready for the next chapter as new parents!” the couple told People.
What has Amy said in the past about getting pregnant?
This pregnancy comes as a bit of a surprise to most fans because Amy has said before that she wanted to wait a bit before having kids.
“I didn’t want to limit myself by just getting pregnant right off the bat and not exploring the rest of what my life could be,”she once told Radar Online.
“I also wanted to have this really great foundation with my husband so that when my baby turns 18 years old I’m not learning how to love my husband all over again,” she continued.
But last December, her husband did hint that they might have started trying for a baby.
“The kids are coming,” Dillon told People. “We’ve been practicing.”
How has the pregnancy been?
The pregnancy has been an adjustment for both Amy and Dillon.
“The learning curve of being a new father is kind of terrifying, but at the same time equally astonishing,” Dillon told the outlet.
And while Amy is excited to have a baby, she is having a bit of a hard time adjusting to her current state.
“I miss Chick-fil-A,” she said. “Baby King isn’t a fan of chicken.”
Ultimately, she is ready for the baby to come, both for the excitement of being a mother and for the chicken.
“I’m over the moon about becoming a momma!” she continued. “I just can’t hardly wait!”
Amy and Dillon’s relationship
Amy and Dillon were friends for a while before they began dating. The pair got engaged in 2015 and were married in September of that year, after a short engagement.
They married at Horton Farms in Arkansas.
The two haven’t always had a picture perfect marriage.
They even appeared on WE tv’s Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars to see if they could work out their differences or would rather split.
“I think for me, especially after the Bootcamp and all that kind of stuff, for me it’s like, two people are going to grow at different rates, right? So, you’re never going to be at the same place at the same time,” Dillon told People after appearing on the show. “So the little arguments that might come up throughout the way, you’re going to have those. That’s going to happen. So if something does, it’s not like it’s the end of the world, we’re not compatible.”
And the two are still learning how to navigate life with one another.
“For me, whenever we would, we still argue of course,” Amy told the outlet. Whenever we argue, I would be like, I would freak out. He’d be like, ‘Babe, this is life. This is normal. I’m here, and I’m not leaving.’ And he gave reassurance.”
