Amy Schumer Announced Her Pregnancy In the Most Hilarious Way
Amy Schumer announced her pregnancy in October in her own unique way. The 37-year-old comedian makes baby news only eight months after her surprise nuptials to 38-year-old chef Chris Fischer, E News reports.
Schumer has been making news lately, but not for her comedy. Instead, she’s emerged as an activist, getting arrested along with actress Emily Ratajkowski for protests against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, CNN reports. Both actresses appeared together in the 2018 film, I Feel Pretty. Following the arrest, Ratajkowski tweeted, “Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault.”
After no buildup or hint that Schumer was getting married, she posted a simple “Yup” and a wedding photo on her Instagram. She included other photos, including the ceremony that featured the couple’s dogs and a funny shot of Schumer in sunglasses with wedding guests.
Fischer proposed to Schumer after only a few months of dating, ABC News reports. And the wedding came together in a matter of days too.
She even found humor when she got sick

Here’s what I’ve been up to this week. I was hospitalized for 5 days with a horrible kidney infection. I want to give a big thank you to the doctors, the bad ass nurses also my husband who’s name is, i want to say, Chris? and my sisters Kimby and mol who have been by my side the whole time. I wanted to share this with you because this is sexy as hell but mostly because I was meant to go to London for the opening of I Feel Pretty and my doctors have told me that’s a no go. I’m really disappointed selfishly to miss this trip because I love London and Europe in general and all the great people (food) there. But I need to put my health first. I am so grateful for all the support the movie is getting. I hope people check it out in England and everywhere else in the world. It’s sweet and fun and you will walk out feeling better. Which is something I hope to feel soon too.
A horrible kidney infection sent Schumer to the hospital in April. Although the comedian was clearly in pain, she managed to make her Instagram post funny. “I want to give a big thank you to the doctors, the bad ass nurses also my husband who’s name is, i want to say, Chris?” She spent five days in the hospital while promoting I Feel Pretty.
The image of Schumer wearing a fake pregnancy suit during Saturday Night Live rehearsals gave Schumer a little “test drive” into what she is about to experience.
But this takes the cake
News of royal baby mania is not lost on Schumer as she hinted about her pregnancy on Instagram first. “About to announce some exciting news on @jessicayellin insta page. Please follow her for up to the minute #newsnotnoise she breaks down what’s really going on. She agreed to post a lil noise today for me! Follow her and VOTE!!” The comedian cut and pasted her face over Meghan Markle’s and her husband’s face over Prince Harry.
Schumer lets someone else announce her pregnancy
Journalist Jessica Yellin did the honors to announce Schumer’s pregnancy. Schumer included Yellin’s Instagram page on her “royal” baby announcement. Yellin’s Instagram story included a list of people to vote for in the midterms, plus…a baby scoop! The big scoop only included one line: “I’m pregnant – Amy Schumer.”
Schumer continues to post on Instagram, but not about baby news. She made a book recommendation and wished comedian Keith Robinson a happy birthday.
