Andy Cohen Fires Back at Claims ‘RHOBH’ Is Boring and Needed Help from past Housewives
Andy Cohen is the father of the Housewives franchise. The Bravo personality was an executive when the concept of The Real Housewives of Orange County was born. Following the success of the aforementioned, spin-offs in other cities rose and became a pop culture phenomenon.
One franchise that has been the center of controversy lately is The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The franchise is shooting season 10 and there have been rumors that it’s been a lackluster season. When Cohen was hit with the claim that production had to recur to past Housewives to inject it some life, he fired back in a tweet.
“Here’s a question for Andy,” a Bravo fan tweeted. “If the RHOBH filming was going so ‘great,’ why did you have to bring back Camille, Brandi, Eileen and Kim last minute? It couldn’t have been going that great.”
Cohen clapped back by explaining, “because we try to bring them back pretty much every single year at some point.”
Season 10 Rumors
As filming for season 10 of RHOBH continued, rumors spurred that no real drama had been fueling the series. The new season would be the first without Lisa Vanderpump, who was one of the fan-favorite housewives.
“There’s been essentially no drama at all with Lisa Vanderpump’s departure,” a source told Hollywood Life. “The ladies are all truly friends and [are] getting along, seemingly.”
Following the leaks, Camille Grammer was confirmed to make an appearance on the reality show she originated. Grammer had been feuding with the ladies last season and it was the perfect time to reignite their differences.
“There was not a plan to bring back Camille Grammer to RHOBH until recently because things have been slow,” a source told Hollywood Life. “All of the ladies are getting along, and they knew Camille would spice things up a bit which the show desperately needs right now. It’s been really, really boring as everyone is getting along.”
Season 10 will see the addition of two new housewives: Sutton Strack and Garcelle Beauvais. The insider revealed that the former is the only one that is causing controversy amongst the cast.
“The producers thought Garcelle would have trouble getting along with certain cast members because she’s got such a strong personality, but that’s not the case,” the source continued. “The ladies are all getting along great and there hasn’t been a single fight yet. They know that’ll change with Camille coming back. Camille is great for TV and drama.”
Erika Jayne reacts to gossip
Erika Jayne, who is another fan-favorite addressed the rumors about season 10 having no drama. The “XXpen$ive” hitmaker assured fans that RHOBH had not finished shooting and that there was plenty of conflict to go around.
“Here’s the thing, we’re not finished shooting,” she said while appearing on The Real. “We’re getting ready to go on our trip, you know how those things can go. And things are bubbling. Liking one another also makes it harder when you do have a disagreement because it’s honest. If I didn’t like someone and I said you know whatever, then I would walk away, but knowing that I care about these women, you know, it hurts when we go home.”
Jayne also added: “I’m so happy. I love [Garcelle]. She’s direct, she’s fun, she’s smart, she’s bright. I enjoy her. And we also have another new housewife Sutton Stracke, she’s cool too but it’s nice to have the diversity.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is expected to return at the beginning of 2020 to Bravo.
