Angela Amezcua Found Love in ‘Bachelor Nation’ … Just Not On ‘Bachelor In Paradise’
Bachelor in Paradise attempts to convince viewers it’s possible to fall in love (or, better yet, the idea of it) in a few short weeks if only you’re tested with temptation, whisked away on filmed dates, and surrounded by 20 of your closest frenemies who are semi-rooting for your success.
It doesn’t work for every contestant on the show — shocker — but it still opens them up to a network of other attractive, Instagram-verified hopefuls who are looking for love in what has come to be known as “Bachelor nation.” And it seems one of BIP’s most recently rejected contestants has found love — just not on the show.
Angela first appeared on ‘The Bachelor’ season 21
Angela appeared on season 21 of The Bachelor to via for Nick Viall’s heart. She and Nick didn’t make it very far in their romance and he eliminated her on the first night after a hectic cocktail party.
She later called the whole experience a bit of a “blur,” and said that while she was surprised by her early elimination, she realized in the short time that she didn’t feel much of a spark with Nick. She clearly wasn’t opposed to trying the Bachelor method to find love again, and fans of the short-lived contestant were eager to see her journey on Paradise.
She thought she had a good thing with Eric Bigger on ‘Paradise’
Considering Eric was one of the earlier cast-offs from Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette, and Angela left Nick’s season early, the two didn’t get much screen time in the beginning. Both were day one contestants who felt out their potential matches in the beginning before finding a spark with each other.
As some of the quicker relationships became solid (or fizzled out) Eric and Angela had the opportunity to go on a date — arguably one of the best in Paradise. They were treated to a spa date of sorts with fluffy robes, champagne, and an all-you-can-eat cheese buffet a la Eric’s “follow the cheese” metaphor for love. Angela gave Eric a rose following their relaxing evening and the two seemed to be set for Paradise success.
Enter Cassandra, a cast-off from Juan Pablo’s season of The Bachelor. While the night before Eric and Angela agreed they were “all-in” and he called her “his queen,” it seemed all it took was a mysterious newcomer to rattle Eric’s feelings. He pulled Angela aside to talk, gave some odd, fumbled excuse about how things “changed overnight” and he woke up feeling different (we’re calling bull), and went on the date with Cassandra.
Eric ultimately picked Cassandra to give his rose to at the next ceremony, ultimately sending Angela home. He then proceeded to leave Paradise saying that “a piece of him left when Angela did.” We wonder whose fault that was?
Angela’s now dating Clay Harbor
Once fans watched Angela’s official exit, she was able to reveal the relationship she’s started in the months since leaving Paradise: with ex-NFL player Clay Harbor, a cast-off from Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette.
Angela posted a photo with her new beau with a tongue-in-cheek caption following her Paradise exit. “Found my paradise,” she said of her and Clay, with a heart to indicate their relationship.
Clay confirmed their relationship status on social media as well. “What do the kids call it? Woman crush Wednesday? Welp here’s mine,” he captioned a separate picture of him and the model. Clay took to Twitter to post this sweet photo as well after teasing he had a new girlfriend to share with his followers.

While on-screen romance didn’t work for the two contestants, we’re eager to see where their off-screen relationship goes.
