Josh Duggar’s sentencing is coming soon, and Duggar family followers anxiously await what comes next. Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar, hasn’t said much since his initial arrest. She made it clear on her Instagram that she supports her husband, though. Now, her current statements suggest she believes he’s a capable father who should be home with his family. Here’s what she said.

Josh Duggar’s trial yielded a guilty verdict, putting him in jail until sentencing happens on May 25, 2022. He currently resides in Washington County Jail in Arkansas. Once he moves to federal prison, he’ll reportedly stay with others who are there for similar crimes.

“If you’re a sex offender and they put you in the population with the normal prisoners, you’ll be attacked in an hour,” Beverly Hills attorney Adam Michael Sacks explained to The Sun. “ … For his own protection, there is a separate part of the jail and he would have more limitations. He won’t be playing tennis or doing activities. It’s a different experience. It’s not as extreme as solitary confinement, but a lot of these jails don’t let you go out much.”

Josh could face about 20 years in prison for his crimes. Sacks believes he’ll receive the highest sentence possible.

“For Josh, I believe he will get a higher sentence,” the attorney added. “Courts don’t want to deal with being accused of giving special treatment and just giving a slap on the wrist.”

Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar, calls him the ‘kindest person’ she knows in a defense statement

New statements in support of Josh Duggar rolled in ahead of sentencing. Josh’s wife, Anna Duggar, has been a strong advocate for Josh from the beginning. The defendant’s sentencing memorandum states that Anna called Josh “considerate, respectful, quick to forgive, patient, and genuinely the kindest person I know.”

Anna also mentioned Josh’s parenting skills. She said Josh is an “engaged dad” who loves to “throw a football” with his young boys, listen to his daughter play music on the piano, or help all of his children with their homework. “He is a kind, loving, supportive, and caring father and husband — his primary focus in life.”

Anna’s father also called Josh a “truly fantastic Daddy” who “truly loves his family.”

Josh Duggar’s famous mother, Michelle Duggar, had nothing but kind words to say about her son as well. In the defendant’s sentencing memorandum, Michelle spoke about how Josh serves as a wonderful husband to Anna Duggar and father to his (now seven) children.

“Joshua is a loving and patient man, striving to be a blessing and provide for his family!” Michelle stated. “He has also spent quality time with his wife and children learning life skills together and going on family outings.” She then noted that Josh spent time with his family building forts, fixing bicycles, camping, hiking, fishing, and playing games. It’s clear Michelle believes Josh should return to Anna Duggar and his seven children to resume such activities and assist Anna in the parenting of their children.

With sentencing coming on May 25, 2022, Duggar family followers will find out if these letters in defense of Josh will help him attain a lighter sentence.
