About a month after announcing her separation from her husband Chris Pratt, Anna Faris is preparing to release a new book that she describes as intimate and revealing.
The Mom star is releasing a memoir on October 24 called Unqualified, and in the newest episode of her podcast, she discusses the fact that she is very nervous about the book’s release.
“I feel really, really nervous because it feels intimate,” she said on the September 5 episode of Anna Faris is Unqualified. “I’m excited, and when I first got the book deal, I thought, ‘Oh, what a great adventure this is going to be.’ And now that it’s getting closer, I feel nervous in the sense that I’ve been able to always hide behind characters, and now it’s like, this is me. And it feels a little scary.”
Anna Faris’ podcast co-host, Sim Sarna, chimed in to say that he read the book and that he couldn’t believe how revealing she was in it, even more revealing than she usually is on the podcast.
“You peel all the layers,” Sarna told Faris. “You just get right inside you.”
Anna Faris said that the book is “just my experiences” and “what I’ve learned from feeling like a really quiet kid with headgear and then suddenly being an actress in L.A. and sort of how I haven’t felt comfortable in my own skin, and learning to do that.”
Later in the show, Faris told listeners that she would really appreciate it if they bought the book, again stressing how nervous she is about it.
“But please know, I am so scared,” she said. “I feel like leaving the country for a little while. I’m breaking into a sweat as we talk about it.”
Although it’s not the focus of the book, Anna Faris will indeed be discussing her relationship with Chris Pratt in Unqualified. However, according to Entertainment Weekly, the book seems to have been written entirely before Faris and Pratt’s relationship issues, and she apparently offers almost nothing but praise for Pratt in it. Pratt also wrote the book’s foreword.
