Mackie set to star in and executive produce ‘Twisted Metal’

According to Deadline, Asad Qizilbash, the head of PlayStation Productions, talked about bringing on Mackie for Twisted Metal. Qizilbash said, “We’re thrilled to have Anthony Mackie on board. His ability to blend comedy, action, and drama is perfect for the Twisted world we’re creating.”

Glenn Adilman, EVP Comedy Development at Sony TV, added, “We’ve been big fans of Anthony’s phenomenal body of work over the years and knew he was the only actor who could play a character as complex, funny, and compelling as John Doe. Fortunately for us, he agreed.”

Anthony Mackie’s John Doe is a loner milkman with no memory of where he came from. Unfortunately for him, he has no family nor a community. But, one day, Doe is offered a chance at a better life. The catch is that he has to deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland, where he is met with numerous dangerous obstacles. In his journey, he meets numerous famous characters from the popular video game. Producers have not announced the casting for these characters yet.
