90 Day Fiancé stars Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno have one of the most famously tumultuous relationships on the show. It seems as if every week either Chantel, Pedro, or their families are losing it at one another over claims of conspiracy, perceived slights, or any number of other dramatic happenings. And with The Family Chantel airing now on TLC, it’s anyone’s guess how much more drama is in store for the couple.
Most recently, Chantel and her family made headlines when Chantel claimed that her marriage to Pedro was a “scam.” Her mother also claimed that Pedro’s family was participating in what amounted to “body trafficking.” Since then, it seems as if the couple is on the rocks. Are they still together now?
The 90 Day Fiancé couple had trouble right from the start — their families just couldn’t see eye to eye on anything. Chantel Everett’s family was deeply suspicious of Pedro Jimeno’s, expressing frequent concern that Pedro’s family was aiming to “harvest the American dollar” by marrying an American woman.
Beyond that concern, there was a litany of other major complaints that Chantel’s family had regarding Pedro’s family. One major sore point for them was the fact that Pedro’s mother and sister lived in a nice, large apartment — nicer even than Chantel’s. They were upset because the size of the apartment implied that Pedro sent his family gifts and money. Seems like a pretty normal thing for a son to do for his mother, however.
Additionally, Pedro and his sister have both gotten into physical fights with Chantel’s family members, who all refuse to back down from the assertion that Pedro is only interested in Chantel for a green card.
Their marriage is a ‘scam’
Now, Chantel Everett is claiming that her 90 Day Fiancé marriage to Pedro Jimeno is nothing more than a ‘scam.’ During a recent episode of The Family Chantel, Chantel told her family, “I basically found out our whole marriage is a scam.”
Chantel’s close friend, Obed, has been making claims about Pedro and his family, and it seems it’s these claims that have pushed Chantel over the edge. Obed has claimed that Pedro Jimeno’s family set Pedro up to find an American girl for the green card, so he could send money home.
“I heard they were finding an American for him to marry… Any American. I don’t think [Pedro] knew about it,” said Obed.
Chantel’s mother added, “When it seems that [there] is an intentional plot to use another person, it’s almost borderline body trafficking, is it?”
Are they still together?
Now, after the countless arguments and accusations, fans are wondering if the 90 Day Fiancé couple is going to stay together.
During the recent 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After tell-all, Pedro said, “I don’t know whether to stay in this marriage and stay here with my wife… or f-ck off.” Chantel said she was feeling pretty hopeless about their relationship during part two of the tell-all.
However, in a July interview with E! News, Chantel claimed that she and Pedro are still working on their relationship, implying the two are still together. She said, “We have our differences that we’re still working on. We have our challenges, but that’s something that will play out on the show.”
She added, “I would still choose to marry him, but I would definitely have more realistic expectations.”
