Are HGTV stars Joanna Gaines and Christina El Moussa Feuding?
It was recently announced that Chip and Joanna Gaines are partnering with HGTV’s parent company, Discovery Inc. and returning to television with their own network that will focus on all things Magnolia. Their fans are delighted, but is everyone happy about the news?
According to a new report, someone not thrilled about it is Flip or Flop star Christina El Moussa. Here’s more on the explosive claims and what’s really going on between these two women.
Claims that El Moussa is upset
Chip let the news about his and Joanna’s TV comeback slip during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2018 when he said, “We signed a non-disclosure and it said quote unquote you can tell your mother but that’s it. So mom, I just wanted to make a quick announcement: We are coming back to television.”
The Gaines’ return to the small screen was later confirmed by Magnolia spokesman John Marsicano.
“We’re excited to share that we are currently in the early stages of talking with Discovery about a lifestyle-focused media network for Magnolia,” Marsicano told Country Living. “The details surrounding this opportunity remain a work in progress, but together, our hope is to build a different kind of platform for unique and family-friendly content.”
Following the news, In Touch reported that El Moussa became very upset that Joanna will be back on TV with her own network. The tabloid claimed that the reason the Flip or Flop star isn’t happy is because so much attention is being paid to Joanna again. El Moussa is reportedly particularly angry about the timing since she is set to debut her new design show in the coming months.
“Christina can’t help feeling outshined by Joanna, especially now that she’s getting her own network!” a source claimed.
The tabloid’s source added that this is pretty one-sided though and nothing Joanna is concerned with. “Joanna’s too busy doing her own thing to care about what Christina thinks,” the source said. “She’s already ahead of the game and doesn’t view the Flip or Flip star as competition. It’s just not Joanna’s style to get involved in any kind of rivalry.”
The Flip or Flop star’s response
After the publication ran the story, El Moussa decided to respond to the claims about any type of feud with the former Fixer Upper host. She didn’t mince words and denied the entire thing via Instagram.
“What a load of Bulls**t,” El Moussa wrote alongside a photo of the article. “I’ve never commented on a tabloid EVER (and have swallowed a load of s**t from these tabloids). #intouchmagazine this is disgusting. I have always been a huge supporter of female entrepreneurs… #girlboss is my motto. She added that she has “nothing but respect” for the mother of five.
El Moussa’s boyfriend, Ant Anstead, chimed in as well and commented on the post with a facepalm emoji.
So there you have it. There’s no bad blood at all between these two women.
