Are Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson Trying For Another Baby?
Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson were married in June 2018. The couple wanted to start a family soon after they wed, but sadly they experienced a miscarriage during Swanson’s first pregnancy. The Duggars come from a very large family, so it makes sense that Duggar and Swanson would want a child — but are they trying to have another baby?
Duggar and Swanson sadly lost their first baby to a miscarriage
Josiah Duggar is one of 19 kids, so it makes sense that he didn’t want to have wait too long to have babies of his own once he was married. Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson got married in June 2018; they courted for about five months, but that’s pretty long in Duggar years (both Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo and John David and Abbie Grace Duggar only courted for about a month.) The two already had plans to start a family, and only a few months after they tied the knot, Swanson found out she was pregnant. However, just as the excitement was building, she lost the baby. “I went to use the restroom and there was the baby. Gone,” Swanson told People. “I couldn’t believe it and I was hoping it wasn’t true.”
Swanson was due on the same day as sister-in-law Jessa Duggar
To make things even harder, Swanson’s sister-in-law Jessa Duggar learned that she was expecting right around the same time as Swanson. And then the two women learned that their babies were due on the exact same day. Losing a pregnancy was hard, but anyone could have broken down over watching their sister-in-law carry a baby full term. However, Swanson has been very kind to Jessa Duggar and offered to help her in any way possible while she prepared for the baby. Her sister-in-law gave her a shoutout on Instagram to thank Swanson for how helpful and kind she’s been through the whole process.
The Duggars don’t exactly ‘try’ for babies
As far as “trying” for babies goes, the Duggars don’t actually do that. For the most part, the Duggars believe that you should have however many children God wants you to have. With that, there isn’t really any time that they start or stop trying. They simply believe that once they’re married, if they’re supposed to have a child, they will. Although Duggar and Swanson went through a lot emotionally when they lost the baby, the couple probably didn’t change anything about their intimate relationship.
Duggar and Swanson believe God will send them a child when the time is right
One major thing that has helped the couple get through the miscarriage is their belief that God always has a bigger plan. The couple believes that this simply wasn’t their time to welcome a child, and although it’s been upsetting, they do feel that when the time is right, great things will happen. The whole family has comforted them, and they still turn to God in times of hardship. They’re confident that they’ll eventually have kids, even if now isn’t the time.
