Are Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in America Right Now?
A few weeks ago, news broke that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were planning on spending the holidays with her mother, Doria Ragland, in Los Angeles. Buckingham Palace later confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were traveling to America, though they did not reveal any exact dates. Although Thanksgiving is officially behind us, it turns out Markle and Harry spent the holiday with Ragland in California and are expected to remain in the United States through Christmas.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle fly to America
It is unclear exactly when Harry and Meghan touched down in Southern California, but they are currently somewhere in the Los Angeles area.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, the couple’s whereabouts were confirmed during a podcast with Omid Scobie, a correspondent with the royal family. Scobie revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan “celebrated Thanksgiving privately with close family” and that they had a long flight to America.
“They celebrated Thanksgiving privately with close family, which is lovely,” Scobie shared.
We do not know if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be making any public appearances during their stay in the United States, but Scobie believes that we will not hear anything from them until after the holidays are over.
We also have no idea where the Sussexes are staying, though they are likely hunkering down close to Ragland’s home in Los Angeles. They are planning on spending plenty of time with Ragland and probably want to be close to avoid being seen by the media.
Are Harry and Meghan moving to America?
Harry and Meghan’s trip to the United States comes amid rumors that they are thinking about relocating to get away from the British press.
The moving rumors heated up a few months ago, and royal staffers at Buckingham Palace are likely nervous about the whole trip. Given how Harry and Meghan have voiced a lot of concern about British tabloids, there may be some truth to the rumors.
The chances that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle relocate to the United States are very slim, but it is possible they live in Southern California for part of the year. This would give them a nice break from all the hoopla in England and give Meghan some quality time with her mother.
The couple, of course, has not commented on the moving rumors, which spiked following their shocking interview in a documentary titled, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.
Meghan Markle opens up about royal struggles
In her part of the documentary, Meghan revealed that adjusting to life as a member of the royal family has not been easy. Although she was accustomed to being in the spotlight as an actress, Meghan had no idea she would be getting this much attention.
Meghan Markle admitted that life has been a struggle behind closed doors and that she has barely been surviving. Her situation only got worse when she had Archie, as members of the media have been doing whatever they can to catch a glimpse of the little one.
The shocking interview also came after Harry sued several British tabloids for publishing personal letters that Meghan wrote to her father.
With Harry and Meghan clearly having issues with how the British press has been covering them, the relocation rumors actually make a little sense.
Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex skip Christmas with Queen Elizabeth
Hopefully, Prince Harry and Meghan will recharge their batteries during their stay in America. But spending the holidays with Meghan Markle’s side of the family means they will not be at Sandringham this year.
Members of the royal family gather every Christmas to spend the holiday with Her Majesty at her Sandringham estate. The royals take part in a number of different traditions during their stay, including attending Christmas Day service together.
This usually offers an opportunity to see all of the royals gathered together at once, but this year, Meghan and Harry will be noticeably absent.
Considering how members of the royal family were reportedly caught off-guard by the couple’s documentary, it might be good for all parties to spend some time apart.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not said anything about their extended stay in the United States. They are scheduled to remain out of the country until after Christmas, so it might be a long time before we hear anything from them.
