Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, are the epitome of “it’s complicated.” The Duke and Duchess of York wed in 1986 after being introduced by Princess Diana. The pair had a massive wedding at London’s Westminster Abbey. The wedding was a massive televised event and was watched around the globe by over 500 million people.
Though they were happy at first –the Yorks marriage quickly crumbled. Prince Andrew was an active officer in the navy, which required him to stay away from home for long periods. As a result, the duchess often found herself alone. To fill her loneliness, Fergie began shopping excessively, and eventually found her way into the arms of another man. However, though it’s been over 30 years since they first wed –Prince Andrew and Duchess Sarah Ferguson are as close as they ever were. So did they actually ever get divorced?

Back in 2000, there were serious whispers about Fergie and Prince Andrew tying the knot once again. Unfortunately, the old wounds were still fresh, and Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip explicitly forbade it. In addition to her scandalous photos, in 2010 Fergie was caught by an undercover journalist who offered her $500,000 for access to the royal family. Prince Philip even described Fergie as, “having no point.”
Recently, rumors have arisen gain that they pair are planning to walk down the aisle once more. However, the duchess released a statement through her spokesperson saying, “The Duke and Duchess remain good friends as they have been for many years, and nothing has changed.”
However, it’s interesting to note that the pair are living together once more. In 2015, moved to Verbier, Switzerland. However, in 2018 the royal duo began living together at back at Windsor Great Park
