Are Prince William and Kate Middleton Planning a Media Comeback?

When Prince William married Kate Middleton in 2011, the two of them became the most popular royal couples in the world. For years, reporters would not stop following them and royal fans could not stop talking about everything that they did.

However, when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wedded in 2018, there suddenly was another famous royal couple to rival Prince William and Kate Middleton. People’s attention suddenly was divided between the two pairs.

But with Harry and Meghan retreating to the countryside to take care of their new baby, are William and Kate now taking advantage of this to get more media attention? Here’s what we know.

All eyes were on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when they got married in May 2018. Soon after, the two of them also announced that they were expecting a baby. To add on to that, the couple even revealed plans to move outside of London and then went on to set up their own Instagram account.

With so many exciting new things going on in Harry and Meghan’s lives, it’s not surprising that Prince William and Kate Middleton have not been getting as much attention as before. It also didn’t help that Harry and Meghan kept a lot of details about the birth of Archie Harrison a secret, which ended up causing public and media interest to grow even more.

All the attention on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has not been making the palace happy, Best Life reports, especially when Prince William and Kate Middleton are the future king and queen.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have been trying to show more of their family

However, now that the commotion surrounding Archie Harrison’s birth is dying down and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are minimizing their public appearances to be with their new child, Prince William and Kate Middleton are definitely showing signs that they are making a big media comeback.

“It’s all worked out quite well. While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex won’t be seen together for some time except perhaps at Trooping the Colour [next month], the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge can restore balance with the proper amount of attention being paid to them,” a source shared with Best Life.

Kate Middleton recently participated in the famous Chelsea Flower Show with her own garden, called “Back to Nature,” which aimed to raise awareness for the benefits of nature on children’s mental health, something that she has been an advocate for.

Not only was Queen Elizabeth there to see Kate Middleton’s garden, the little children of Prince William and Kate Middleton were present as well. The couple understands that the public loves to get glimpses of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, so a lot of photos of the young royal kids exploring the garden were posted on their Instagram page.

The palace doesn’t want any royal conflicts

The palace also made sure that all eyes were on the Duchess of Cambridge and went out of their way to prevent anything that could cause a distraction. At the Chelsea Flower Show is a garden created by Camfed, one of the charities supported by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Camfed was specifically told to not use pictures of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to promote their work as to not distract people from Kate Middleton’s “Back to Nature” garden.

“There is a system in place to ensure the diaries and events of each member of the royal family do not conflict with one another,” the insider for Best Life said. “This is simply the Palace wanting to make sure the Duchess of Cambridge’s efforts are properly acknowledged.”

After the Chelsea Flower Show, the Prince William and Kate Middleton also attended the queen’s annual Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, which had around 8,000 guests. And it seems that the couple will not slow down their public appearances any time soon.
