Are Tyler Cameron and Gigi Hadid Dating? ‘The Bachelorette’ Contestant Explains Their Relationship
Bachelor in Paradise has officially wrapped for the summer, but Bachelor Nation can finally rest easy until the new year — sort of. Former contestants are still living their lives, which means they’re still popping up every so often. Recently, Tyler Cameron — aka Bachelor Nation’s “Respectful King” from Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette — opened up about his relationship with supermodel, Gigi Hadid. The two have been spotted hanging out for some time, and fans have been itching for some answers. So are Cameron and Hadid dating? Here’s what the Bachelorette contestant had to say.
Cameron and Hadid are ‘just friends’
On Sept. 24, Entertainment Tonight’s Lauren Zima interviewed Cameron and the 26-year-old discussed his dating life. However, if you were hoping Cameron and Hadid finally got together, you might be a little disappointed.
“We’re just friends,” he said. “That’s just where we’re at. Our relationship doesn’t need to be public. She’s good people, she’s an amazing person. We’re just keeping it friendly.”
But even if Cameron’s statement is a complete lie and he is actually dating Hadid, it doesn’t look like the ABC reality star would tell the public. And honestly, that’s totally fair. “I’m at the point where I don’t really want to talk about my relationships,” Cameron said. “I’ve dated publicly, so… I’m trying to date privately and I’m not in love with anybody right now. I’m in love with myself.”
Nevertheless, ET probed a bit more, mentioning Cameron seems to care for the supermodel. “She’s an amazing person. We’ve hung out a few times, that’s all,” Cameron replied.
The Bachelorette contestant then explained their relationship is strictly personal, despite Cameron’s blooming modeling career. When asked if he will ever cross paths with Hadid on a professional level, Cameron joked, “She’s a little bit more big-time than I am. She’s pretty good at what she does.”
What happened when Cameron and Brown went out for drinks after ‘The Bachelorette’?
During the ET interview, Cameron also revealed the details of his night out with Brown following The Bachelorette reunion. “I told her that I was still going to date people,” he said. “[When The Bachelorette was airing], I really didn’t go out and date nobody. I didn’t put myself out there at all, out of respect for her, and out of respect for the show. And so I was like, ‘I still want to go and put myself out there and see what’s right and what’s not right.’ And that’s all I really was trying to do.”
That being said, Cameron explained he made “mistakes” with how he handled the situation. Although he admitted the emotions were “still there” when he spoke with Brown and it was good they had a conversation, Cameron also had drinks with Hadid a few days later.
“It’s not always easy [to do the right thing]. I make mistakes and there’s definitely things that I could handle better,” Cameron said, per ET. “But I never meant to do anyone wrong. I was just trying to figure out what was best for me and where my heart was at.”
How does Cameron feel about Brown now?
Regardless of what happened in the past, it seems everyone involved is doing just fine. Cameron is enjoying his — ahem — friendship with Hadid. He is also still supportive of Brown.
“She’s an amazing girl. I gave it my all, and she’s incredible,” Cameron said of The Bachelorette lead. The reality star also shared he has tuned in to Brown’s season of Dancing with the Stars, which is currently airing.
“She’s killing it,” Cameron stated. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the “Respectful King” Bachelor Nation has come to know and love.
