Ariana Grande Deserves a Break
Ariana Grande is one of the biggest name in music right now. Ever since she became a popular mainstream artist in 2014, Grande has been releasing music and performing shows nonstop. The singer leads a very busy life, which has no doubt allowed her to rise to the top and stay there.
However, it is also well-known that Grande’s life is not an easy one. She has gone through quite a lot of things in the past few years, and the fact that she continues to pick herself up day after day to work for fans is quite admirable.
The truth is that, though, Grande should not have to keep doing this. She deserves to put her career on hold for a while and take a break.
Ariana Grande suffered from PTSD after the Manchester Arena bombing
In May 2017, a suicide bomber detonated a bomb at Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester, England, killing 22 people and injuring 59 others. A lot of the victims were children and teenagers.
Grande also told British Vogue about her PTSD:
“It’s hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss. I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well. Time is the biggest thing. I feel like I shouldn’t even be talking about my own experience – like I shouldn’t even say anything. I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry.”
Grande was blamed for Mac Miller’s death
A year after the traumatic bombing, it was announced that Grande and rapper Mac Miller, her boyfriend of two years, had parted ways. Unfortunately, Miller would pass away a few months later from a drug overdose.
While Grande was grieving the loss of Miller, people on the internet began blaming her for his death. Many trolls descended on her social media accounts, telling that it was her fault and she “killed” him.
Grande disabled comments on her Instagram page and also wrote on Twitter: “Shaming and blaming a woman for a man’s inability to keep his s*it together is a very major problem. Let’s please stop doing that.”
However, Grande later admitted that those months after Miller’s death were extremely difficult for her. “I don’t remember those months of my life because I was (a) so drunk and (b) so sad,” she shared. “I don’t really remember how it started or how it finished.”
Grande called off her engagement with Pete Davidson last year
Shortly after breaking up with Miller, Grande moved on to dating comedian Pete Davidson. The two of them quickly got engaged in June 2018, though their relationship did not last long. They broke up in October 2018.
She would later call her relationship with Davidson “an amazing distraction” and that she actually “did not know him” very well.
In any case, Grande has not dated anyone since Davidson. Back in March, she told fans that she will remain single for the rest of the year (and possible longer).
Fans want Grande to take care of her mental health
It’s clear that Grande has had a lot going on in her life in the past year, and many fans are rightfully worried about the singer’s mental health. Though Grande has been opened about seeing therapy, fans do not believe that she should be going on a world tour like she is currently doing, especially when she has told people that performing can be very hard for her.
“Ari u need to cancel the tour. I’m not joking u need to for ur mental health,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Another person told Grande: “Boo take some time for you, it’s okay if you wanna cancel the rest of the tour. Just want you to be happy and feel good. But if you really wanna stay on tour, do it. Take care love u.”
