Ariana Grande has been sick for weeks

Grande took to Instagram over the weekend to give her fans a heads up that she has been sick for three weeks and has been “in so much pain.”

Grande told her fans on her Instagram Stories that she had been coughing and had a sinus infection and was “trying to figure out what’s going on.”

She shared: “Hi my loves, so I’m still very sick. I’ve been sick since the last London show. I don’t know how it’s possible but my throat and head are still in so much pain. I sound okay I’m just in a lot of pain and it’s difficult to breathe during the show. I am seeing my doctor and trying my v best to get better for tomorrow’s show.”

Grande continued, “The last thing I would ever want to do is cancel a show at this point with so few left. I’m truly cherishing every moment of this… I just really don’t know what’s happening with my body right now and need to figure it out.”

The singer wanted to give fans “a gentle heads up,” adding, “I don’t want anyone to feel blindsided tomorrow if god forbid I can’t make the show happen. I’m on all the meds. Getting IV drips, doing everything I possibly can to pull through. Mom and friends are taking good care of me. Just a scary feeling. Love you with all my heart and will keep you posted.”

Her update wasn’t very promising

Grande continued to keep her fans updated on her health, sharing that she couldn’t “swallow or lift my head” and hoped she’d “wake up better.”

She also shared her love with fans and apologized “for the anxious updates and for over sharing,” explaining, “I just don’t want anyone not aware of what’s going on ahead of time.”

Grande noted: “You know I push through and hide things as often as I can/ as well as I can when sick and wouldn’t say something unless it were really tough.”

Grande left “disappointed” that she had to cancel

When Grande woke up today, she found that she felt worse, forcing her to cancel her Lexington, Kentucky show, which she was understandably very upset about.

In her Instagram Stories, Grande explained: “So I woke up kind of 10 times worse and it hurts so bad to swallow. I’m not really sure what’s going on but I unfortunately don’t think I’ll be able to push through tonight and I’m so upset and sorry.”

She added: “I’m so upset, but obviously you’ll be refunded… I’m just really devastated.”

Grande was emotional as she noted: “Thank you for understanding and sending love… I’ll keep you posted as soon as I know what’s going on with my body but thank you for understanding and I’m so sorry.”
