Ariana Grande Keeps Releasing New Music: How Does it Fit With the ‘Sweetener’ Album?
Ariana Grande keeps dropping hit after hit!
Just a month after releasing her No. 1 single, “Thank U, Next”, the singer has come out with yet another single. The song “Imagine” was released Friday a little after midnight and we’ve had it on repeat since then!
How does this new music fit with the ‘Sweetener’ album
Everyone who listened to Grande’s latest album, ‘Sweetener’, found it to be an album that defines who Grande is as a person. Even though “Thank U, Next” and “Imagine” will be on her next studio album, they are anthems of self-love and acceptance, which are similar to songs on Sweetener.
This pop ballad recalls the beauty behind relationships
It seems as though Grande is pouring her heart and soul into her newly released songs. The singer’s latest song “Imagine” is a pop ballad that showcases her impressive range and discusses the beauty behind her failed relationships.
With a year of much success, it was also a year of tremendous heartbreak for Ariana Grande. After the death of ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, and calling off her engagement from comedian Pete Davidson, the song touches upon the love she gave and received until the relationships went south.
Fans began to speculate that the song was ultimately about Mac Miller since Grande was dropping a few hints that referenced Mac Miller on her Instagram stories prior to the song’s release.
Many fans even began to find the connections of this song to Mac Miller, from his “Imagine” tattoo on his inner bicep to a couple lines that reference Miller’s song “Cinderella” that Ariana Grande confirmed was about her.
The next album will celebrate acceptance, growth, and independence
Grande has been working hard in the studio to release her fifth album, Imagine. After releasing the ultimate breakup song of the year, “Thank U, Next” and now the soulful ballad “Imagine”, Ariana Grande album is expected to showcase her personal growth and self-acceptance.
“Imagine” clearly explains Grande’s want for the perfect relationship and being in denial of the signs that the relationship is not working.
Grande went into detail about her upcoming album on her Instagram story. She wrote, “A lot of this album mourns failed yet important beautiful relationships in my life (as well as celebrates growth / exploring new independence), but for those of you asking about imagine: i would say if ‘thank u, next’ = acceptance… ‘imagine’ = denial. hope that makes sense,”
Followers began to analyze the message behind this song and Grande even gave a few fans the answers they were looking for. She replied back to one fan’s tweet, “kind of like… pretending it never ended. denial. but i look forward to you hearing it and having your own experience with it. you may take away something totally different and specific to your life! love u.”
