There are plenty of hardworking artists in showbusiness. But few have ever done what Grande did. She released her fourth studio album, Sweetener, on Aug. 17, 2018. Shortly after its release, Grande and Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson broke off their engagement, which inspired her to head right back into the studio.

Grande then released the single “Thank U, Next,” and revealed that a new album of the same name was in the works. Her fifth album, Thank U, Next came out on Feb 8, 2019, less than six months after her Sweetener. That’s an incredibly impressive turnaround. Oh, and even more impressively, for the first time, Grande was a co-writer on every single track.

You would think that anyone would need a break after that much nonstop writing and recording over such a short period of time. But Grande launched right into her pre-planned Sweetener World Tour, which, though it had the same name, was rebranded in support of Thank U, Next as well.

Since early March 2019, Grande has been on tour. She’s barely slowed down in that time, beginning in the U.S. and Canada and making her way over to Europe before returning to North America. Now, Grande is finally on her last wave of shows. She finishes up Dec. 21 and 22 at the Forum in Los Angeles.

Yes, Grande has been very busy on tour. But she also has taken time out to work on even more music. In April 2019, she and frequent collaborator Victoria Monét released a duet, “Monopoly.” Grande then worked with her openers, Social House, on a track titled “Boyfriend.” Additionally, she executive produced the Charlie’s Angels soundtrack, writing and/or singing on six of 11 tracks.

And there’s even more in store. Grande has been working on a live concert album while she’s been on the road. Officially announced on Dec. 11, she’ll only tell us that it’s “coming soon.”

When will she reveal the release date?

As you can see, the album is available to pre-save now. However, fans are eager to find out when the actual release date is. But Grande isn’t sharing this information, no matter how much we beg.

On Twitter, where she’s very conversational with her fans, Grande has been asked repeatedly for a release date. At the suggestion of one follower, she even (jokingly) created a poll, asking, “do u want to know when the live album is coming no or no.” So expect a big surprise when this album finally drops.

Grande’s tour has achieved a milestone

Not only has Grande’s tour brought with it plenty of entertaining nights for the fans and for those who will buy the album to relive it, but it’s also done some genuine good for the world. Grande partnered with HeadCount, an organization that promotes voter registration, to create #ThankUNextGen, her own campaign for getting those at her concerts to register.

And apparently, she did just that. According to HeadCount, this was the most successful tour ever for the cause, bringing in more than 33,381 new registered voters as of Dec. 19, 2019. What an amazing way to end the tour!
