Ariana Grande’s Musical Collaboration Hits: Who Should She Sing With Next?

While Ariana Grande certainly has proven that she has the talent and determination to move her career ahead on her own terms, she has enjoyed some of the most popular collaborations in the music business of the past ten years. Here are our favorite Ariana Grande collaborations, as well as our thoughts on who she should sing with next!

Ariana Grande sings with Jessie J

2014 was a great year for Grande, most notably for the release of her collaboration with fellow artists Jessie J and Nicki Minaj on the song Bang Bang. Combining the three distinct vocal styles of the artists in a way that showcased each diva’s strengths, the music video was a smash success and the song still gets tons of radio play.

The song was also the first time Grande would sing with her good friend, rapper Nicki Minaj. She would go on to perform with Minaj several more times.

Although Nicki Minaj is notorious for her fiery personality and feuds with fellow artists, she enjoys a firm friendship with Ariana Grande. The two gush about each other on social media and in interviews, and Minaj has called Grande her “sister” on several occasions. Their friendship has led to several fantastic collaborations, including the 2016 song Side to Side.

The racy song (and equally scandalous music video) was a smash for both Grande and Minaj and would lead to several more opportunities for the friends to work together. As Grande recently teased on Twitter, more projects for the duo could be just around the corner.

Iggy Azalea and Ariana Grande

In addition to Bang Bang, 2014 was also the year that Grande’s song with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea was released. Problem was a track on Grande’s My Everything Album, and the single was hugely popular on the radio upon release. Azalea and Grande seemed to genuinely enjoy working with each other as well, with Azalea going on the record to state that she loved how sassy Grande is, and that she thinks Grande has one of the best singing voices of her generation.

Grande’s newest collaborations

Ariana Grande’s newest album, Sweetener, dropped in August 2018 and featured a slew of exciting new duets with top artists. With 15 total tracks, three of those collaborations with a few of Grande’s favorite artists, the album marked the beginning of a bold new direction for the pop diva.

Included on the hit album were duets with Missy Elliot, Pharrell Williams, and Grande’s BFF Nicki Minaj. Grande has stated that she especially loves her song Borderline, a ’90s style jam with iconic rapper Missy Elliot. Grande’s world tour in support of Sweetener is slated to begin in early 2019 and is sure to feature special guest artists joining Grande on stage to help belt out some of her hit tunes.

Who can Grande sing with next?

At this point in her career, Grande is an established presence, with professional relationships established throughout the industry. Grande undoubtedly enjoys working with her fellow artists and is definitely capable of surprising her fans with her choice of collaborators (such as Zedd and Pharrell Williams).

Grande’s girl-power anthems are always popular, so collaborations with other top female artists would go meteoric in no time, and rumors of a duet with Dua Lipa are still lingering. Another possibility is the long-awaited duet between Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande – and 2019 might finally be the year that it happens.

Whether going solo or paired up with another powerhouse vocalist, Ariana Grande never slows down and never fails to keep her fans on their toes!
