Arie Luyendyk Jr. Says He Only Went on ‘Bachelor: Winter Games’ to Reconnect With Lauren Burnham–Becca Kufrin Calls B.S.

Becca Kufrin won Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season of The Bachelor. But, as Bachelor Nation isn’t soon to forget, the racing driver ended up breaking up with Kufrin on national TV to pursue a relationship with his runner-up, Lauren Burnham.

Today, Luyendyk and Burnham are married and have a baby girl named Alessi.

Kufrin went on to be the bachelorette and is still engaged to her season winner, Garrett Yrigoyen.

How Becca Kufrin feels about Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham now

On a recent episode of Entertainment Tonight’s “Roses and Rose,” Kufrin said if she could change anything that’s happened to her on reality TV it’d be that she didn’t say ‘yes’ when Luyendyk asked her to marry him.

“Not say yes to the first engagement. I mean if I had to pick one I would. Everything else I feel like had to play out as it did,” she said.

Apparently, the former bachelorette hasn’t spoken to Luyendyk nor Burnham, save for stuff filmed for TV, since everything went down.

“No,” responded Kufrin when asked if she’s spoken to Luyendyk. “I mean just like filming-wise but that was it. Yeah, nothing else. I don’t even know what I would say. I’d probably high-five him. He has a cute baby.”

Though she hasn’t run into the Luyendyks just yet, she knows Bachelor Nation is small and says she’s confident the interaction will go smoothly when they do inevitably run into each other.

“I think it’d be fine for me. At this point they’re happy. Hopefully there’s no bad blood there. But I don’t know,” she said.

Why Arie Luyendyk Jr. went on ‘Bachelor: Winter Games’

On a recent episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Luyendyk said that his “whole motivation” for why he went on Winter Games was to speak with Burnham’s producer and find out how she was doing. He was engaged to Kufrin at the time, so to admit this is to admit that he was doing something behind his fiancé’s back.

On “Roses and Rose,” Kufrin shared her thoughts on her ex-fiancé’s recent admission.

“I heard that. I actually heard it from Rachel. To, me it’s such B.S. because when we were together I knew he felt bad about how things ended, like he felt guilty, which I get because it’s a very weird situation. But I was always like, ‘You can go call her and apologize and get that off your chest.’ It was never something where I was like, ‘He can’t do that.’ So to me it was weird in that regard,” said Kufrin.

But the former bachelorette also said she’s thinks “there’s a lot more that I didn’t even know about so at this point in my life I’m like whatever.”

“Like many men, I think he was confused at that point,” she said.
