Here’s Why the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Cast Hasn’t Seen the Movie Yet
In just a few short days, the highly-anticipated Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters, and Marvel fans may go crazy. The film is the last of the Marvel series, which means that for fans, it’s more important than ever to see it. But the cast has taken the movie seriously as well, and they recently revealed that none of the core actors and actresses have actually seen their own movie yet — and they have a good reason as to why.
‘Avengers: Endgame’ will conclude years of Marvel movies
Fans of Marvel films have been following the production of the series for more than a decade, starting with Iron Man back in 2008. Now, after 22 films, Marvel has produced what it’s calling “one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to 22 films.” The film will premiere on August 26, and the buzz about it has been like no other. Tickets went on sale on April 1, and some theaters around the country even offered specials to show all 21 other Marvel movies before the premiere. Other successful films in the franchise include Black Panther and Guardians of the Galaxy.
The cast is looking forward to immersing in the excitement of the premiere the same way the fans do
If the cast wanted to see the film, they could. But during an interview on Good Morning America, they all revealed they haven’t seen the movie yet. Of course, they filmed the scenes they were in, so they know bits and pieces of what goes on, but as a whole, they’re unaware of what happens from start to finish. When Paula Faris of Good Morning America asked the cast if they had seen the movie, all of them looked at one another and said they hadn’t watched it. “It’s kind of fun… When you get to the premiere it’s like, ‘Oh my God, that’s what happened to you,’ or ‘That’s what happened to me,’” actor Chris Hemsworth said. And others agreed. “Personally, I’m actually going to try and enjoy the experience of the premiere,” said Chris Evans.
The cast admitted they’re in the dark about what happens during the film
Scarlett Johansson said the cast doesn’t actually know any more about the film than the fans do, since there is so much that goes on in the movie, it would be nearly impossible to put it all together without actually seeing the film. “There’s so many different pieces going on, and there’s like three different units happening at the same time… There’s so many different parts of this universe that honestly, we really all are as kind of ‘in the dark’ as all of you,” Johansson said in the interview. She also said that if you’re not filming with another actor, it’s too hard to tell what’s happening.
The cast considers themselves to be family
Now that filming is over, the cast is excited to see the movie but loved the time they spent filming together. “It is that family you choose, even though fates brought us together,” Robert Downey Jr. said. “And I can look at each of my costars and recall many time that we’ve sought each other out when there was no call sheet… It’s been a very blessed affair.” The cast also said that in terms of their real families, most of their kids think they’re pretty cool for starring in the film.
