The Russo brothers write an open letter: #DontSpoilTheEndgame
In the same fashion as they did for Avengers: Infinity War last year, the Russo brothers wrote a letter to beg fans not to spoil the ending of Endgame. Please, for the love of everything, listen to Anthony and Joe Russo.
So much has gone into creating Avengers: Endgame, it’s understandable that they want the movie to be the very best, spoiler-free movie viewing experience for fans.
The Russo brothers wrote the letter and posted it to The Avengers’ official Twitter and Facebook accounts, so read on for their plea to truly make the movie the greatest experience for fans.
To the greatest fans in the world,
This is it. This is the end. The end of an unprecedented narrative mosaic spanning eleven years and eleven franchises.
For all of you who have been on this journey with us since the very beginning, sharing every high and low with your family, your friends, your classmates, your co-workers. Investing so deeply in every character and storyline. Laughing. Cheering. Shedding tears. Giving so freely of your thoughts and emotions in spirited dialogue, theories, fan art, and fan fiction. Please know that the two of us, along with everyone involved in Endgame, have worked tirelessly for the last three years with the sole intention of delivering a surprising and emotionally powerful conclusion to Infinity Saga.
Because so many of you have invested your time, your hearts, and your souls into these stories, we’re once again asking for your help.
When you see Endgame in the coming weeks, please don’t spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn’t want it spoiled for you.
Remember, Thanos still demands your silence.
As always, good luck and happy viewing…
The Russo Brothers
They referenced last year’s letter which carried the hashtag #ThanosDemandsYourSilence and said, in part: “We’re asking that when you see Infinity War, in the coming months, that you maintain the same level of secrecy so that all fans can have an equal experience when they watch it for the first time. Don’t spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn’t want it spoiled for you.”
Fans react to Avengers: Endgame spoilers
Fan reactions flooded social media after the Avengers: Endgame footage leaked, with many vowing to abandon Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube altogether just to avoid spoilers.
One Twitter user remarked: “Sooooo I guess I’m quitting Twitter and Instagram for the next two weeks until I can see Avengers since it’s leaked apparently. #DontSpoilTheEndgame.”
Another person tweeted this word of caution: “Be very careful of Avengers: Endgame spoilers when you’re on comments, forums or social media. Read only outlets you trust. You have been warned, stuff is now out there.”
