Avengers: Endgame footage was leaked
If you’ve been attempting to avoid any spoilers ahead of the movie, it’s probably been going pretty well… until now. About 5 minutes of footage from Avengers: Endgame is currently making the rounds and while we won’t post it here, it’s pretty easy to find on social media. If you’re keeping your Avengers: Endgame experience as pure as possible, don’t watch the video and avoid all discussion because there are major plot points revealed.
How to avoid Avengers: Endgame spoilers
Fans have been impressed that the cast of Avengers: Endgame has been tight-lipped while doing press for the movie but now that someone shared this video and it spread like wildfire, you might want to step up your game.
If you want to avoid the leak and associated spoilers, you’re going to have to tread lightly on social media, as one Twitter user advised: “Apparently Avengers: Endgame spoilers hit the web. Mute all hashtags. Read your timeline with one eye closed. Do not tweet before you’ve seen the movie. Delete the Twitter app. Shut down DNS. Cut the submarine internet cables. Burn the internet down.”
Another Twitter user shared: “Be very careful of Avengers: Endgame spoilers when you’re on comments, forums or social media. Read only outlets you trust. You have been warned, stuff is now out there.”
One person tweeted this even stronger warning: “PSA: FOOTAGE FROM THE END OF AVENGERS: ENDGAME HAS HIT THE INTERNET, THIS IS NOT A DRILL. ENTER YOUR SPOILER BUNKERS AND DELETE ALL SOCIAL MEDIA. CYA NERDS IN A WEEK AND A HALF!”
How will the Russo brothers respond to the leak?
Last year, directors Joe and Anthony Russo wrote an open letter to tell any fans who had seen Avengers: Infinity War before its release to keep spoilers under wraps. In part, they wrote: “Everyone involved with the film has worked incredibly hard for the past two years maintaining the highest level of secrecy. Only a handful of people know the film’s true plot. We’re asking that when you see Infinity War, in the coming months, that you maintain the same level of secrecy so that all fans can have an equal experience when they watch it for the first time. Don’t spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn’t want it spoiled for you.”
Last month, in speaking about Avengers: Endgame spoilers, Joe Russo told Box Office Pro: “At a certain point, I’m sure we’ll write another letter this year that asks everyone to stay off the internet. I think this one has even more spoilers than the last one.”
He continued: “This is a culture that wants everything now, and it’s getting worse. The world is connected via social media, and information travels within seconds. If you’ve been following along with this narrative for 10 years, you’re going to want to protect yourself. It’s best to go in clean. I encourage people to go opening weekend because I’m sure everything is going to hit the internet the moment the movie hits the screen.”
