‘Avengers: Endgame’ Nominated for Best Comic Book Movie of the Year at 2019 Saturn Awards
Avengers: Endgame has already taken the box office by storm. Will the hit Marvel movie do the same at this year’s Saturn Awards?
The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films has revealed the 2019 Saturn Awards nominees, and Endgame leads the pack with 14 total nominations, followed by Aladdin with nine nods. In TV, Game of Thrones has nine nominations followed by The Haunting of Hill House and The Walking Dead with six each.
Is ‘Avengers: Endgame’ the best comic book movie of 2019?
Seven movies were nominated in the best comic-to-motion picture category this year. (Films released between March 1, 2018, and July 7, 2019, were eligible.) They are:
- Aquaman
- Avengers: Endgame
- Avengers: Infinity War
- Captain Marvel
- Shazam!
- Spider-Man: Far from Home
- Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Avengers: Endgame also scored acting nominations for Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. in the best actor category. Jeremy Renner was nominated in the best supporting actor category, while Scarlett Johansson and Karen Gillan are contenders for best supporting actress. The Russo brothers were nominated in the best film director category.
The blockbuster film — which is close to becoming the highest-grossing movie of all time — is also nominated for best film screenplay, best film production design, best film editing, best film music, best film costume, best film makeup, and best film special/visual effects.

The 2019 Saturn Awards will be held on September 13, 2019 at Hollywood’s Avalon Theater. This year, fans will be able to stream the event through an as-yet-unnamed streaming partner, according to Deadline.
