Another month, another Marvel red carpet. On Wednesday, June 26, 2019, the cast of Spider-Man: Far From Home attended the film’s Los Angeles premiere. The final entry in the MCU’s Phase 3 is already receiving high praise from those in attendance. Here’s a look at who was there, including the one Avengers: Endgame star you may not have expected to see.
Naturally, Peter Parker himself was in attendance. As always, the British actor looked great, refusing to stick to the standard fare. Holland wore a sharp, rust-colored suit, paired with a matching t-shirt and glasses. His look added a bit of sophistication that we don’t see when he’s playing the teenage superhero.
MJ (which, in this universe, stands for Michelle Jones) may be more prone to dressing down in the films, but her portrayer, Zendaya, is a fashion icon. The actress showed up to the premiere in a sequined backless gown in, appropriately, Spider-Man colors: black and red.
It’s unknown for those who haven’t seen the movie whether Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio is friend or foe (as he is in the comics), but does appear obvious is that he and Holland coordinated their outfits for the premiere. The Oscar-nominee wore blue slacks and a matching jacket, with a forest green crew neck underneath. He and Holland drew comparisons to Chris Kattan and Will Ferrell’s characters from A Night at the Roxbury.
Given that she plays SHIELD agent Maria Hill, it’s not surprising that Cobie Smulders is bold, especially in her fashion choices. She wore a lacy white dress reminiscent of doilies, featuring one off-the-shoulder sleeve and a very high slit, revealing her right leg.
Peter’s tried and true best friend Ned Leeds is, of course, on his school trip to Europe, and so Jacob Batalon has joined Zendaya and Holland during their press tour. At the premiere, Batalon opted for a black-and-white look, with white sneakers and jacket, black pants, and a striped collared shirt.
Fans of the MCU know that Jon Favreau is not only the director responsible for kicking off the Iron Man franchise (and the universe as a whole) but also plays the character Happy Hogan, friend and employee of Tony Stark. Happy was the Avengers’ liaison to Peter in the Spider-Man: Homecoming, and has continued that role after Stark’s death in Avengers: Endgame. Favreau showed up to the premiere in a blue suit with a blue, paisley tie.
Samuel L. Jackson
Nick Fury has got a lot on his plate now that the events of Endgame created the existence of a multiverse. He recruits Peter to help him, and it seems that he trusts Mysterio (Quentin Beck). Naturally, the worldly Samuel L. Jackson is used to the European setting, and he channeled it with his premiere look: All white, topped with a purple beret and a pair of his signature round sunglasses.
We’re not expecting Aunt May to have a huge role in this film unless she’s a chaperone for Peter’s class trip. Still, actress Marisa Tomei will be present to send her nephew off to Europe. Like many of her castmates, she attended the movie’s premiere in a bold color, donning a layered pink gown.
What’s this? Lexi Rabe, aka little Morgan Stark from Endgame, was at the premiere of Spider-Man: Far From Home premiere in an adorable red and blue dress perfect for the occasion. Does this mean that Morgan and her mom (Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts) will make an appearance in the film? We’ll have to watch to find out.
