Tickets Are Now On Sale For ‘Avengers: Endgame’
It’s officially Avengers: Endgame month, and the excitement is rising to a level never before seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans have been eagerly waiting for tickets to go on sale so they can be the first to see the culmination of the over 10 years of MCU action that has led to this moment in the franchise. Now, that time is finally here, and Marvel also offered up a new, minute-long “Special Look” trailer that gives even more insight into Endgame. Here’s what you need to know.
Tickets are on sale
On April 2, 2019, the announcement finally came: You can now buy tickets to see Avengers: Endgame in theaters on April 26. This has been a long time coming, as tickets for the film’s predecessor, Avengers: Infinity War, went on sale six weeks prior to the release of the flick. So as March ended, there was concern about when they would become available for Endgame.
The rush to buy tickets has caused technological difficulties
Unsurprisingly, with the announcement came a rush to buy tickets as soon as possible, in order to guarantee the best seats at the first possible showing at your local theater. Sites like Fandango and AMC Theaters knew ahead of time, obviously, but still weren’t quite prepared for the rush, as both had technical difficulties causing them to crash due to the intense traffic increase.
Here’s what we learned from this new trailer
Along with the announcement came a minute-long trailer featuring a lot of new footage from the film. There’s a lot that can be taken away from what’s seen here, so let’s jump right in:
The first scenes before the title card depict the Avengers at headquarters. While the footage is new, it doesn’t give us too much additional information. Bruce Banner brings up that they’re going into battle “short-handed,” but this doesn’t seem to dissuade Thor, Rhodey, Steve Rogers, or Black Widow, the latter of whom says, “We owe to everyone not in this room to try.”
Some of the most exciting moments come when we see Tony and Nebula back on Earth, sharing important moments with those they’ve missed. We also get to see Carol Danvers back in the pilot’s seat, alongside co-pilot Rocket Raccoon. But the biggest reveal comes at the very end when Thanos is seen as his voiceover says, “You could not live with your own failure. Where did that bring you? Back to me.”
How much is Endgame poised to make?
Given the early rush for tickets, it’s safe to say that Endgame is set to break some box office records. It is all but guaranteed to bring in over $2 billion worldwide, a feat which Infinity War before it has already accomplished. The real question is, could it break $3 billion?
Many believe this will be the case. In fact, because China (which is second only to North America in box office sales) is releasing the movie the same weekend, some think that Endgame could top $1 billion internationally in the opening weekend alone. The film might even break the record of highest-grossing movie of all time, which is currently held by Avatar. We’ll have to wait and see as ticket sale figures continue to roll in.
