Are The Avengers Getting A New Team Member For A Potential ‘Endgame’ Sequel?

We love Marvel movies 3000. With the success of Avengers: Endgame and the unfortunate fate of characters Iron Man, Black Widow, and Captain America, some fans are wondering who will join the Avengers in their next adventure. According to BGR, the Avengers could be welcoming a new superhero to the team. Here’s what we know about a potential Avengers: Endgame sequel.

A leak suggests that there will be new cast members in the potential ‘Avengers: Endgame’ sequel

Avengers: Endgame premiered a few months ago and already, some fans are asking what’s next for the remaining Avengers. Well, a few leaks suggest that the “hero,” Ghost Rider might be joining the MCU as a character in the Avengers: Endgame sequel.

If Marvel were to introduce Ghost Rider into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are a few different interpretations of the character to choose from. One Ghost Rider movie premiered on 2007, featuring Nicolas Cage as the title character. However, there are multiple movies, comic book, and television shows featuring the character. Some “Ghost Riders” took different names during the day, including Johnny Blaze, Danny Ketch, and Hulu’s Robbie Reyes.

Along with Venom, this flaming character is known as an “anti-hero” who sold his sold to the devil. According to BGR, the leak states that Ghost Rider could appear in an upcoming Marvel movie, alongside characters like Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and the rest of the Avengers.

There might be an X-Men and Avengers cross over for an upcoming Marvel movie

Ghost Rider may not be the only character joining the MCU. Leaks and rumors suggest that there may even be a cross-over between some of the Avengers and the X-men characters. However, Marvel announced multiple new characters to star in their own television shows and movies.

According to BGR, “the next Avengers sequel obviously hasn’t yet been announced. Marvel needs time to develop new adventures and introduce all the new heroes with the help of Phase 5 before moving to the next big threat the Avengers will inevitably have to deal with. Word on the street is that Avengers 5 will actually be a huge cross-over with X-Men. Marvel confirmed that projects involving the mutants are in the works now that Disney owns the rights for the character, but Feige didn’t say when these movies will arrive.”

When would Ghost Rider join the Avengers?

Marvel already announced the upcoming moves and shows for 2020 and 2021. That means that any upcoming Endgame sequels would take place in the following wave of Marvel movies. Additionally, if Ghost Rider were to join the Avengers, it wouldn’t be until the end of Marvel Phase 4, meaning 2022 or later.

In the meantime, there will be plenty of Marvel content premiering in theaters and on Disney’s streaming platform, Disney Plus, within the upcoming year. That includes the origin story of Black Widow, premiering in May 2020. Disney Plus will also house spin-off shows of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame characters. That includes original series’ like Wandavision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and Loki.

Avengers: Endgame is available for purchase digitally and physically. The movie will be available for streaming on Disney Plus starting in December 2019.
