Baby Archie’s Adorable Winter Outfit Is Surprisingly Affordable and Accessible
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released their first Christmas card as a family last month, and it promptly broke the internet out of pure adorableness. This response comes after a tough year for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry after constant arguments with the media and scrutinizing from the general public. Along with their baby, Archie, the family chose to spend the holidays this year in Canada with Markle’s mother instead of attending the traditional royal family celebrations around Buckingham Palace.
The family’s adorable Christmas card
It’s clear that the Sussexes have enjoyed their time away from the United Kingdom during their holiday. Their Christmas card featured an adorable photo of Archie crawling toward the camera with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle smiling at him in the background, all in front of a Christmas tree. The card reads, “Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, from our family to yours.” Archie definitely steals the spotlight from his parents with his eyes locked on the camera and the mischievous smirk that only an 8 month old can pull off.
Followers on social media were quick to take warmly to the photo. Many were especially fond of the candid nature of the shot. The Duke and Duchess look like a very “normal” family in the Christmas photo, sporting casual outfits and simply smiling and laughing as a family of three, something that the public rarely sees from any members of the royal family.
Baby Archie’s adorable outfit could be yours
While no one can take away Archie’s natural cuteness, another reason he’s so adorable in the family’s Christmas photo is his polar bear sweater from Boden. The popular British brand was also featured in the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Christmas card photo, with Kate Middleton wearing one of their dresses (and which has since been sold out).
Archie’s sweater is 100% cashmere, features a cute polar bear graphic and button accents, and is still in stock on their website in a few available sizes. What’s more, the brand is currently on sale at Nordstrom. While Archie’s polar bear sweater isn’t part of the sale, there are many other available looks that are royal-worthy and just as adorable.
This Mini Boden Fun Stripe Sweater has a nautical feel to it and features the same three-button accent as Archie’s sweater. Likewise, their Button Neck Sweater is another cute look for your little ones that could someday be worn by one of the royal children. Another piece we could see Princess Charlotte rocking in the future is the Hooded Duffle Coat, an adorable pink jacket that is sophisticated enough for someone who is fourth in line for the throne.
The family’s decision to stay away from the U.K. during Christmas was controversial
While it’s great to see the family smiling in their Christmas photo, it comes at the end of a tumultuous year for the royal family. It was announced before the holidays that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be taking time away from the U.K. and that time would encompass the holidays. In a statement from royal officials, it was stated that the Queen was aware of their plans to spend Christmas away from the royal family and that she supported their decision.
However, many noticed that the Queen seemed to snub Markle and Prince Harry in her annual Christmas broadcast. Not only did she fail to mention them by name at all during the broadcast, she even left them out of her collection of photos on her desk. Here’s to looking forward into 2020 and hoping that the Windsors can continue to keep their family values first and foremost.
