‘The Bachelor’: Are Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham Married?
Before there was Peter Weber, Bachelor Nation seethed over Arie Luyendyk Jr. for pursuing Lauren Burnham after dumping Becca Kufrin. Following The Bachelor Season 22, the couple faced backlash from all sides of the fandom. But now, the two reality stars are returning to the franchise as guest judges on The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart. So are Luyendyk and Burnham married now? Here’s what you should know about the pair today.
Arie Luyendyk Jr. picked Lauren Burnham on ‘The Bachelor’
In The Bachelor Season 22 finale, Luyendyk got down on one knee and proposed to Kufrin. Then two months later, the former race car driver realized he made the wrong choice and broke up with Kufrin in an uncomfortable unedited scene. Then at the After the Finale Rose special, Luyendyk proposed to his runner-up, Burnham. Meanwhile, Kufrin became the next bachelorette.
In an interview with GQ, Luyendyk explained why he chose to get engaged with Kufrin in The Bachelor finale. “I felt like I was trying to be logical. I tried to think like, ‘OK, I know who Becca is, and she’s a great person,” he said at the time. “In the moment, I felt like I was making the right choice.”
The former bachelor also explained why he had a change of heart and decided to go after his runner-up. Apparently, everything changed after Luyendyk contacted Burnham on New Years’ Eve. “As soon as I heard her voice, I knew that I had to end things with Becca,” he said.
Then, in the end, Luyendyk confirmed he made the right decision. “The fact is, I’m really happy with Lauren,” he told GQ. “So for me, it was all worth it.”

After The Bachelor Season 22 wrapped on ABC, Luyendyk and Burnham revealed they were ready to tie the knot.
“We’re so ready for this,” Luyendyk told People in March 2018. “Lauren told me I’m four months late on this proposal, and I wanted to give it to her and I wanted everyone at home to share in it.”
He also added, “We’ve already been planning it, even before the engagement. We want to do it quickly.”
Then on Jan. 12, 2019, Burnham married Luyendyk in Hawaii and became Lauren Burnham Luyendyk. “Life with you is all sunsets and rainbows,” the former bachelor wrote on Jan. 11. “We’re getting married tomorrow!”
Meanwhile, host Chris Harrison officiated the ceremony. “It’s was an incredible wedding week. My blessings and prayers to Mr & Mrs Luyendyk and baby Luyendyk on the way,” Harrison wrote on Instagram. “For now it’s Aloha! Back to helping @coltonunderwood find love tomorrow night.”

“She is sweet and calm and @ariejr and I could not be more in love with her,” Burnham wrote on Instagram.
Four months later, Luyendyk and Burnham got married again at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. The couple was also joined by their daughter.
“We got married on Saturday (again) in the back of a pink caddy in Vegas,” Luyendyk wrote on Instagram. “Our new friend and legend @mrjordan1911 officiated (Elvis sat this one out).”
Meanwhile, Burnham wrote: “@ariejr’s so nice I married him twice! We always joked about ditching our plans for the first wedding and eloping in Vegas so we thought, what the heck, why not have both? Best decision we ever made as this day will be a hilarious memory we will cherish forever.”
Now, Luyendyk and Burnham are still together two years after their run on The Bachelor. Fans can find them frequently posting on Instagram and YouTube, updating the world on their family. Then, as mentioned, the Bachelor Nation alums will mark their return to the franchise on Listen to Your Heart. So stay tuned.
