‘The Bachelor’: Colton Underwood Has Advice for Peter Weber and Here’s Hoping He Takes It
In September 2019, Colton Underwood officially passed The Bachelor torch to Peter Weber. Fans fell in love with Pilot Pete during Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette. However, when he was announced as the next bachelor, some fans weren’t too sure about the casting news. But the former reigning lead showed his support for Weber from day one. And even now, Underwood has some sound advice for the new bachelor. Let’s just hope Weber decides to take it.
Colton Underwood shares advice with the next ‘Bachelor’ lead, Peter Weber
For anyone who doesn’t remember Underwood’s incredible Bachelor journey, we have two words — fence jump. Yes, the 23rd season was quite possibly one of the “most dramatic” seasons ever.
Throughout the season, Bachelor Nation watched as Underwood fell in love with Cassie Randolph. However, Randolph chose to eliminate herself from the competition after feeling doubts about the relationship and future engagement. And as a result, Underwood jumped a fence and ran off in the middle of Portugal.
Nevertheless, Underwood eventually went after Randolph and the pair got back together, with no engagement plans in the future. Of course, this is basically unprecedented territory for Bachelor fans, as the show is expected to end with a promise for marriage. But Underwood and Randolph did it anyway and they’re still together.
Then on Nov. 4, Underwood opened up in an interview with Cosmopolitan and shared a bit of advice for Weber. And it was clear Underwood’s comments were based on his own experiences throughout the ABC reality series.
“My season specifically exemplified that there’s an expectation to get engaged,” Underwood said. “But my only advice is just, it’s your life at the end of it.”
He then noted that Weber should mainly focus on himself, rather than cater to what others might want to see.
“They have another bachelor. They have another bachelorette,” Underwood explained. “So you really need to keep in mind to do what’s best for you and what’s best for your relationship, because it’s your real life.”
Underwood also hinted that filming The Bachelor has plenty of distractions. However, if Weber continues to be himself, he’ll be just fine.
“It’s so easy to get caught up in those moments with cameras around and all these tropical places and amazing locations you’re visiting,” Underwood said. “It’s just my advice to him to just stay true to himself, trust his gut, and do what he needs to do for him.”
‘The Bachelorette’s Hannah Brown also has advice for Peter Weber
Now, Underwood isn’t the only Bachelor franchise lead to give Weber a piece of advice in regards to his new quest for love. In October 2019, Brown shared a tip with Weber during an interview with People. And it’s safe to say the former bachelorette’s advice falls in line with Underwood’s.
“I think it’s really hard, just in general, with anyone who is the lead for The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, to just really go all in. But then go all in and trust,” Brown told People. “As much as I knew I was completely myself and was giving it my 100 percent, you don’t know other people’s intentions, and that can make you want to hold back. But, you can’t.”
Brown continued: “I think you really have to go all in and really make sure you’re making your own decisions and following your heart. Just remember that this is … temporary.” She then pointed out Weber needs to decipher whether or not the relationship can survive outside of the realms of reality television.
That said, it seems Brown believes in Weber’s capabilities of finding his perfect match as The Bachelor. “It’s a lot. But, I know Peter has a great heart and is a genuine guy,” she said. “So I really hope that it works for him.”
