‘Bachelor in Paradise’: Do Couples Ever Get Back Together After Breaking up on the Show?

Bachelor in Paradise is the place where people who didn’t quite find love on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette can get a second shot at happily ever after. All they have to do is start and maintain a relationship while dozens of other hot singles pop up and try to steal their significant others away. Simple, right?

Though BIP has produced some great relationships, it has also created some of the most dramatic situations ever to be broadcast. But of course, what can you expect when you put a bunch of reality stars on a beach together and give them unlimited alcohol?

‘Bachelor in Paradise’ breakups

This season, a lot of couples have come together and a lot have split up. In the beginning, Tayshia Adams connected with Blake Horstmann but that relationship quickly went south once it was revealed that Horstmann had hooked up with several other women in the cast before even getting to the beach.

She, then, moved on to John Paul Jones, and Derek Peth, eventually ending things with both men.

“Honestly, I felt like I’d made a really big mistake letting someone go that genuinely cared about me, but also I knew that my heart wasn’t there, so I didn’t wanna lead him on or anything,” she told Entertainment Tonight of breaking up with Jones.

One of the biggest catalysts for the end of each relationship was the massive argument that Jones and Peth got into this season, which turned Adams off.

“I hadn’t seen that side of John before… and then for Derek as well, they were really in each other’s faces,” Adams told the outlet. “Honestly, it was really unattractive and at that point I didn’t really know what I wanted, whether it be one or the other or neither of them at all.”

Couples who have gotten back together after ‘BIP’

Some fans were heartbroken that Adams and Jones couldn’t make their relationship work, especially after Jones had put so much effort into Adams. But just because they didn’t end Paradise together, doesn’t mean they won’t find their way back to one another.

One of the greatest examples of a broken BIP relationship gone right is Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon. Iaconetti and Haibon first met on season two of Bachelor in Paradise. They dated shortly before Haibon decided that they would be better off as friends.

Iaconetti was heartbroken but the two still stayed in touch. The next season of BIP, both Haibon and Iaconetti came back to the beach. Iaconetti was still madly in love with Haibon, but Haibon only wanted to date other people.

After that season of Paradise, Iaconneti went on The Bachelor: Winter Games, where she met Bachelorette Canada contestant Kevin Wendt. The two hit it off and quickly began dating.

After realizing that he might lose Iaconetti forever, Haibon told her how he really felt and the two got together.

The couple was married on August 11 of this year.

Clare Crawley and Benoit Beauséjour-Savard met on Winter Games, as well. Halfway through the season, Crawley told Beauséjour-Savard that she was interested in someone else, which made him send himself home.

After the show, the two got back in contact and Beauséjour-Savard proposed! Unfortunately, they called off their engagement a few months later.
