‘Bachelor in Paradise’: Does the Show Still Air on Labor Day?

Bachelor in Paradise is nothing if not intense. Host Chris Harrison always claims that every season of the show is the most dramatic season ever. This time, he might have been right. There have been so many breakups and makeups that it’s hard to keep track. People switch partners almost daily and it’s guaranteed that at least one person will cry per episode.

What has been going on in ‘Paradise?’

Paradise started out rocky. At first, Blake Horstmann seemed like he was going to be the prime pick for all of the ladies. But soon it came out that he had been a little too eager in the show’s offseason. Before he even arrived in Paradise, he had already slept with Caelynn Miller-Keyes and Kristina Schulman and had flown to visit Hannah Godwin.

“I thought he was a great guy and that we really had something,” Miller-Keyes told bartender Wells Adams of Horstmann. “We talked about skipping Paradise and coming out with us, and then he ghosted me. Just like fully stopped communication and now I’m here. F—ing first date. And then we saw each other at a music festival. He ended up sweet-talking me and we spent the night together. And we wake up and I’m in his bed and he’s DMing Hannah G. I’m still in his bed, he’s talking about how hot Tayshia is. I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ Like no dude, that’s not okay. And then he was like, ‘I just want to let you know I hooked up with Kristina the night before.'”

After Horstmann ruined his chances with pretty much everyone on the beach, he and Schulman began giving each other friendship roses in the hopes that they could stay on the show long enough to find a connection.

Demi Burnett chooses her girlfriend

Demi Burnett and Derek Peth hit it off from day one. The two seemed like they were going to make it all the way to the end of the show together. That is, until Burnett started missing the girl she had been dating back home, Kristian Haggerty.

“I have Derek in front of me and it feels nice to be around him, but I don’t have Kristian around me, so I don’t know how I’d feel if it was just me and her,” Burnett said in her confessional. “It’s easy for people who are exploring options here because all of their options are here, and one of my options is not here. So that’s where it gets a little difficult for me.”

Then when Haggerty showed up in Paradise, Burnett chose to be with her over Peth.

“I thought not seeing you…I wouldn’t think about you as much and I’d think about what was in front of me,” she told Haggerty. “But the opposite happened. The more I was away from you…the more I thought about you. The more I spent time with him, the more you kept coming to the forefront of my mind. The second I saw you, I knew…it’s you. It’s always been you. I want to be with you.”

Does ‘BIP’ air on Labor day?

Some shows take breaks on holidays, but luckily for fans, BIP is not one of them. The drama will resume as normally scheduled on Monday at 8 p.m. ET.
