In Bachelor in Paradise Season 7 Episode 10, Ivan and Aaron Clancy fought over Chelsea. The love triangle emerged when Ivan connected with Chelsea following Kendall Long’s exit. Then things quickly took a turn ahead of the next rose ceremony.

Guest host Wells Adams pulled Ivan aside. The two reality stars discussed what happened at the hotel when the BIP cast evacuated because of a tropical storm. Ivan met up with Alexa from The Bachelor Season 24 with Peter Weber, claiming he found out her room number from a producer’s phone.

In the end, Ivan admitted he was wrong for going around the system, and he left Bachelor in Paradise. Then when Ivan explained the situation with Alexa to the cast, he apologized to Chelsea.

“At the end of the day, I wanted to say I’m sorry to all of you,” Ivan said at the time. “I went around the system last night to meet Alexa because I wanted to see if there was a connection there.”

“Chelsea, I’m especially sorry to you,” he continued. “Not that I was going to get your rose tonight, but if I was going to be offered your rose, I wasn’t going to accept it. … I realized in that short amount of time, I wasn’t in the mental space to continue being here in Paradise. Under different circumstances, who knows what could’ve happened.”

Becca Kufrin on what Ivan Hall did on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 7

In the Sept. 29 episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Becca discussed what Ivan did on Bachelor in Paradise Season 7. The former bachelorette speculated what was going on in Ivan’s mind at the hotel. And ultimately, she understood his actions. Becca said:

“Ivan was in the mindset where I think he thought, ‘OK, this is probably my last night. I don’t have a strong connection. Kendall left. Let’s just go balls to the walls, all out. Do whatever we can. If there’s just one person left here that I was excited to meet, and I now know her room number, why not?’ I know he went around the system and broke the rules. I understand, though, where he was coming from and the mentality behind it.”

Where Ivan Hall went wrong with Chelsea Vaughn in ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 7 Episode 10

Although Becca empathized with Ivan’s situation on Bachelor in Paradise Season 7, the former lead noted the contestant messed up with Chelsea. Becca and co-host Tia Booth revealed Chelsea was still deciding between Aaron and Ivan ahead of the rose ceremony. So if Ivan knew he was going to deny Chelsea’s rose, he should have spoken to her ahead of the elimination ceremony.

“The issue and the part where [Ivan] really f***ed up is that he lied to everyone the next day, especially to Chelsea. It was at her expense,” Becca said on Bachelor Happy Hour. “I think the part where he went so wrong, where I felt for Chelsea in that moment, was where he confronted everyone after Wells pulled him aside.”

The former bachelorette continued, “He was like, ‘Chelsea, I’m sorry. If you would’ve given me the rose, I would’ve turned it down.’ That should’ve been said well before the rose ceremony. The audacity. That is bulls***. That is where I felt heated for Chelsea.”

The off-screen situation between Ivan and Alexa created some major drama in Bachelor in Paradise Season 7 Episode 10. But even so, Becca made it clear Alexa wasn’t aware she was breaking any rules until it was too late, noting the reality star thought Ivan’s arrival could’ve been part of the show.

“I know people probably thought that they snuck out and they hooked up,” Becca said on Bachelor Happy Hour. “[Ivan] even said, ‘This has nothing to do with Alexa. She has no part in this.’ … I’m sure there’s going to be trolls out there on social media who will come at her. She is innocent in all of this. Leave her out of this.”

Meanwhile, Tia suggested Alexa was the one who decided not to join the Bachelor in Paradise cast.

“She also made the decision not to go down to the beach because she felt so uncomfortable after she found out it was not supposed to happen that way, that it was against the rules,” Tia said of Alexa. “I really felt for her because she missed out on her opportunity, too.”
