‘Bachelor in Paradise’: Are Katie Morton & Chris Bukowski Still Engaged?

The Bachelor in Paradise finale aired last night and Bachelor Nation is still reeling from everything that went down. Producers named a new bachelor, Tayshia Adams and John Paul Jones got back together, and Caelynn Miller-Keyes admitted to loving van life with Dean Unglert. Of course, fans were delighted when the Summer ended with not one but three engagements. But perhaps the most surprising couple to get engaged were Katie Morton and bachelor veteran, Chris Bukowski.

Morton and Bukowski had a bit of a rocky road in paradise, with Bukowski also shared a connection with fan favorite, Jen Saviano. Of course, this was after Morton convinced Bukowski that he should pursue other relationships if he wanted to even though she was secretly hoping for exclusivity. Eventually, Bukowski chose Morton, but the pair still struggled even after deciding they were all in on each other. Lack of communication and being on seemingly different pages caused issues between the couple fairly often.

Trouble in paradise

Ultimately though, the pair decided that they were in love and opted for a Bachelor in Paradise engagement. But things haven’t necessarily been smooth sailing since the pair returned to the real world. This was made evident when Morton showed up to the reunion not wearing her engagement ring. She confessed that though the pair were still engaged, she felt like she wasn’t always getting what she needed in her relationship. Citing that she constantly told and showed Bukowski she loved him, she felt that the love wasn’t always reciprocated.

As you’ve seen..It’s been the furthest from easy. From the decision to take the leap onto the beach, navigating what was real and staying true to myself, and my world that spun out afterward. None of it has been a walk in the park. BUT I’ve learned, a lot. I’ve learned to be more direct, how to challenge myself and others, I’ve learned that I’m empathetic to a fault, that love languages are so important to understanding others, that self sabotage can be found in many forms, and BOY have I learned what patience looks like. But most of all, I’ve learned that happiness isn’t something to look for in your partner. Your partner can make you laugh but your partner is not responsible for your happiness. Happiness is found within and sharing that with each other is what lights up a room! Communication is the link to everything, which is something we sure did LACK in paradise and shortly after. It took us a few months to really get our bearings (especially with some exceptional and unexpected challenges). I know none of you will truly understand why things are the way they are but I ask that you trust me and support me as I navigate this new world of mine. Because I’m happy with me and we are finally happy with us. We have grown so much in our friendship and now in our relationship since that day. Like I said to both of our parents and I will say to you- I can’t promise you this relationship will be perfect (it won’t be/ it isn’t) and I can’t promise we will last forever. Honestly, some relationships don’t last after 20 years and some do, that’s life. But what I can promise you is that I take this seriously, won’t lose myself, I will always try my best, I will always keep it real, and we will have each other’s backs. Thank you for following us through this journey of hope, faith, all of the next phases of life and more importantly – love ♥️ cheers to an effing INSANE adventure

Bukowski then came out and eventually professed his love to her and ensured Morton that he wanted to make things work if she did. Morton’s ring was then brought back out and she put it on. Things seemed to look up, but Bachelor in Paradise producers later showed the pair fighting in the parking lot. Bukowski said that he felt blindsided by Morton sharing their issues with everyone, particularly since they’d had those conversations before. Morton argued that yes they’d had those conversations before, but nothing had changed.

Are Katie Morton and Chris Bukowski still engaged

All the drama made Bachelor in Paradise fans question if the pair were still engaged, let alone still together after the reunion special. Fans of the couple will be pleased to know that Morton and Bukowski are still together and committed to working things out. The pair both took to their respective Instagram pages to share their thoughts and love for another. They also assured their supporters that they were still engaged and working towards forever.

“Love is tough. Love is beautiful. Most importantly love is patient. Sometimes you need a shock to the system to put a fire under your ass. What I felt then I feel even more now. I love you @katieemo and can’t wait to feed you pizza for the rest of our lives,” Bukowski said in a sweet caption sharing an image of himself feeding Morton a slice of pizza. We’re glad that these two seem committed to sticking it out despite the obstacles that get thrown their way. It’s likely very difficult to leave the Bachelor in Paradise bubble, but they seem open to making it work in the real world.
