‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Star Kendall Long Relates to Cassie’s Decision to Break up With Colton

Colton had a wild season of The Bachelor. Chris Harrison really wasn’t kidding around when he told us that Colton’s season was unlike anything we’d ever seen before.

Colton fell head-over-heels for Cassie from the moment the two had their one-on-one in Thailand (you know, the date that involved the two of them making out on a private island for what felt like an entire episode). Fast forward a few weeks later when Colton and his final three ladies (Cassie, Tayshia, and Hannah G.) were in Portugal and Cassie decided to break up with Colton and head home. In an effort to show Cassie how serious he is about her, Colton broke off his relationships with the Tayshia and Hannah G. And the rest is history.

Today the couple is very much in love, as is evident by their social media.

Kendall Long, who was on Arie’s season of The Bachelor and on last summer’s season of Bachelor in Paradise, says she can relate to Cassie’s decision to break up with Colton because of her experience with her now-boyfriend Joe Amabile (affectionately known as Grocery Store Joe by his fans) on BIP.

“They do seem truly happy. When I saw them after the final rose and they were together–you know, of course, we all had our worries. Like why would she leave if she really cared about him? And I thought about that, too, but then seeing them afterwards–you know, I actually went through a similar experience,” she recently told Extra TV. “I left and I technically broke up with Joe so I feel like going through that myself I could understand how your mind is so–there’s just so much in it and you’re so confused, and I think after the show you have some time to think about it. That’s when you’re like ‘oh dang, where was my brain when that happened?’ So I can understand her place.”

BIP fans will remember that Kendall and Joe had a complicated romance towards the end of the season. Kendall wanted to remain open to other men despite Joe’s unwavering loyalty to her since early on in the summer. It eventually got to be too much for Kendall and she left the show. Joe left shortly after because he felt, with Kendall gone, there was no reason for him to stay.

The two got back together after the show ended and are very happy together today.

Kendall recommends ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ to all ‘Bachelor’ alums

Kendall’s message to any and all Bachelor contestants from Colton’s season: go to Paradise! She’s talking to you Caelynn, Tayshia, Hannah G., and Demi! You never know who you’ll run into.

“I definitely recommend Paradise to anybody because you never know what’s going to happen. I went into Paradise not at all expecting to find anybody and just being like ‘Oh I’ll see some of my friends’ and then I went there and Joe was there, had no idea I’d ever connect with Joe, and we just like hit it off and he still makes me crack up to this day,” said Kendall.

It certainly worked out for her and Joe.
