‘Bachelor In Paradise’: Tayshia Adams Opens Up About Why She Broke Up With John Paul Jones
Just before the Paradise cast learned they were headed into Fantasy Suites, John Paul Jones organized one of the most thoughtful, romantic dates on the beach this summer: he invited Tayshia to a DIY prom complete with crowns, dancing, and champagne, because Tayshia never went to her high school prom.
But when Chris Harrison announced that Paradise couples needed to decide whether to move on to the next stage of their relationship together or breakup, Tayshia decided to end things with JPJ.
Bachelor Nation is not over Tayshia Paul Jones
Bachelor Nation had grown to love Tayshian and John Paul Jones together, often calling their connection “the Bachelor In Paradise couple we didn’t know we needed.”
“I’m still so confused what happened for her to dump @johnpauljonesjohnpauljones … when a guy makes you smile as much as he made her you don’t let that go ☹️@tayshiaaa explain yourself girl?” commented one fan on a recent Instagram post of Tayshia’s.
“Awwww, I was truly rooting for you and JPJ. Hope you find what your looking for,” wrote another Instagram user on another post of Tayshia’s.
“Don’t be afraid of love! U say u want love but then run away from it! JPJ made u laugh, & made u happy & made u feel special. Don’t let a TV show rush u – there’s no deadlines on Love in real life, take your time & let love grow,” wrote another.
Why Tayshia Adams broke up with John Paul Jones–’I didn’t wanna lead him on’
At the filiming of the finale that’s airing tomorrow, Tuesday September 17, 2019, Entertainment Tonight spoke to Tayshia about why she decided to end things with JPJ.
“Honestly, I felt like I’d made a really big mistake letting someone go that genuinely cared about me, but also I knew that my heart wasn’t there, so I didn’t wanna lead him on or anything,” she explained.
ET also spoke to John Paul Jones at the taping. He said when Tayshia broke up with him it made him “question everything.”
“It was very difficult in that moment,” he said. “I was very skeptical of going to Paradise to begin with, and I just didn’t have a great experience romantically on The Bachelorette, so it really just kinda questioned the authenticity of everything.”
Tayshia also spoke to ET about watching John Paul Jones’ fight with Derek Peth and how big a turn-off it was for her.
“I hadn’t seen that side of John before… and then for Derek as well, they were really in each other’s faces. Honestly, it was really unattractive and at that point I didn’t really know what I wanted, whether it be one or the other or neither of them at all,” she said.
We’ll have to wait and see if the ex-couple is truly done for good or if Tayshia Paul Jones will give their love another shot.
