‘Bachelor in Paradise’: The Real Reason Katie Morton and Chris Bukowski Broke Up
Say it isn’t so. Another Bachelor in Paradise couple has split up. Though some may say that Chris Bukowski and Katie Morton’s breakup has been a long time coming, it’s still sad to see yet another engagement called off.
Ever since they left Paradise, Bukowski and Morton’s relationship has been rocky. The two rarely posted one another on their social media pages but still claimed to be together.
So, what happened to make them finally call it quits?
Katie Morton and Chris Bukowski’s rocky relationship
Morton and Bukowski’s relationship was rocky from the moment that she agreed to marry him. After the final episode of Paradise aired, Morton took to Instagram to explain what was going on between her and Bukowski.
“As you’ve seen..It’s been the furthest from easy,” she captioned a photo of her and her fiance’s hands. “From the decision to take the leap onto the beach, navigating what was real and staying true to myself, and my world that spun out afterward. None of it has been a walk in the park. BUT I’ve learned, a lot.”
“Communication is the link to everything, which is something we sure did LACK in paradise and shortly after,” she continued. “It took us a few months to really get our bearings (especially with some exceptional and unexpected challenges). I know none of you will truly understand why things are the way they are but I ask that you trust me and support me as I navigate this new world of mine. Because I’m happy with me and we are finally happy with us.”
Why Katie Morton and Chris Bukowski didn’t post one another
After Paradise, the two rarely posted one another on their social media. Bukowski claimed it was to keep people guessing.
“It’s kind of great because people actually don’t know if we’re together or we’re not,” he told Us Weekly.
“Yeah it’s kind of good sometimes to be that mystery where we’re just like, ‘Huh.’ It’s kind of, like, out of the spotlight a little bit,” Morton chimed in. “We just took a break from it after Paradise ’cause it was very intense and we don’t feel the need to prove anything to anyone, which has been nice.”
The reason Katie Morton and Chris Bukowski broke up
Earlier today, Morton announced her and Bukowski’s split on Instagram.
“One of the many lessons this life has taught us is that it’s okay to be stubborn in the pursuit of happiness,” she wrote. “To fight for what is real and good, and that often times the hardest thing and the right thing are the same.”
Ultimately, the pair decided it was best to part.
“We’ve reached a point in our story where we agree it’s best to go our separate ways,” she continued. “We have chosen to love and respect each other as friends because that’s the base of our relationship, and it’s what is most natural for us. We are incredibly thankful for the support we’ve received from our family, friends and everyone who supported us throughout our journey – from paradise to this moment.
We are grateful for everything that we’ve learned in this chapter, and are hopeful for what is to come in life and in love for both of us. “
