‘Bachelor in Paradise’: Who is the Mystery Woman Demi Burnett Hooks Up With?
Summer is in full swing, which means Bachelor in Paradise is right around the corner. Each year, BIP brings some of our fan favorites and the contestants that we loved to hate, to the beach in the hopes that they find love with one another.
The matchups are always surprising. You can never predict who will hit it off in paradise. Remember when Chris Randone and Krystal Nielson got together? The two went from being the villains of their seasons to a happily married couple!
Or when Jordan Kimball and bombshell Jenna Cooper got together, just for it to come out later that Cooper was faking the whole relationship.
Basically, if past seasons of the show have taught us anything, it’s that you never know what is going to happen in paradise. And this season is no different.
Who is Demi Burnett?
Demi Burnett went from being a villain to fan-favorite all in one season of The Bachelor. We first met Burnett when she competed for former football player, Colton Underwood’s, heart. She shocked audiences with her bold statements and her fearlessness. Though she was often crass, she was so genuine that eventually fans couldn’t help but love her.
What happens with Burnett on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’?
Last night, a new promo for BIP was released and in it, things get steamy. It showed that Burnett gets into a love triangle, which is very common. But the surprising thing is that the triangle is between her, Derek Peth, and a woman.
“I don’t care who sees this,” she says at one point, lying on top of a woman in bed and kissing her.
But she also connects with Peth.
“Last night, Demi and I had a really fun time in the hot tub,” Peth says later in the clip. “That’s not something I should have to hide.”
It seems like Burnett eventually chooses the mystery woman over Peth.
“I know that I love this girl,” she says. I’m just so happy that I found her. And I can definitely picture being with her for the rest of my life.”
Who is the mystery woman?
According to Reality Steve, Burnett and this mystery woman did not meet on the beach.
“As prepping for Paradise was going on during the last month, word got around and I heard that Demi had a girlfriend and that she was planning on bringing her on the show,” he wrote.
The two knew each other from before Burnett left for Paradise and the woman showed up during filming.
“Demi’s girlfriend showed up on the beach late last week, Demi told everyone this is the woman she’s been dating, they were given a date card that night, and got to stay on the show. Demi’s girlfriend is Kristian Haggerty.”
“Demi and Kristian have been seeing each other since around February, and all this of Kristian coming on the show was pre-planned,” Steve said.
Burnett, apparently, wanted to use the show as an opportunity to come out.
“Demi talked about it with producers, she knew Kristian was gonna be brought in after filming had started, and she wanted to use the show as an outlet to come out as bisexual,” she continued. “They’re not having Kristian battle over other men for Demi or anything like that. They are there and they are a couple and, seemingly, I guess just seeing where it goes. But the fact they didn’t leave together right away makes me think these two will stay ’til the very end.”
