‘Bachelor in Paradise’: Why Derek Peth Isn’t Accepting John Paul Jones’ Public Apology
John Paul Jones and Derek Peth surprisingly got into several heated arguments on Bachelor in Paradise. Now things have wrapped up between them on the show, JPJ posted an apology on Instagram. Find out what he said and why Derek isn’t accepting the public apology.
John Paul Jones and Derek Peth fought over Tayshia Adams
JPJ was hanging out with Tayshia Adams first in paradise. However, she started spending more time with Derek. JPJ decided to confront Derek about his intentions at Krystal Nielson and Chris Randone’s wedding.
He accused Derek of “taking advantage” of fans by using his “status to hook up with women that are infatuated with public figures.” The new fan-favorite contestant also mentioned that Derek has a podcast and invited him on as a guest so he might not be here for the right reasons.
Chris did tweet his reaction to the situation. “In all seriousness….would you be upset if JPJ did this in front of your mom at your wedding???????!!! #BachelorInParadise,” he tweeted during the episode.
He then tweeted, “The WORST part was when JPJ said hi to my mom turn around say f*ck Derek and then blow up saying imaginary things. We’ve never even seen or heard these things all season. This was horrible…. #BachelorInParadise.”
In the next episode, Derek tried to confront him about the claims he made. Derek denied sleeping with fans, which led to another argument in front of Tayshia.
Tayshia ended things with Derek
Tayshia wasn’t happy that the two men were arguing. JPJ eventually apologized to her and started crying. She then had a serious conversation with Derek.
She told him, “I don’t know if I can get there.” Tayshia claimed this had nothing to do with Derek’s feud with JPJ. He accepted this, but he admitted there was no one else at paradise who he was interested in so he decided to leave.
Derek’s time in paradise might have ended, but his drama with JPJ might not be over. They had an exchange on Instagram that is getting noticed.
John Paul Jones posted an apology
JPJ posted a picture of himself sitting on a dock. He wrote a long caption about his actions on the show.
“After watching this past Tuesday’s of BIP and having had time to step away from it all and introspect on my actions, I do deeply regret that my behavior was disruptive and upsetting to the celebration of Chris and Krystal’s wedding reception,” started the caption.
It ended with, “Despite the fatigue and anxiety I felt at the time, I should have used good judgment in my decisions and acted in a more mature and selfless way. I extend my sincere apologies to Chris and Krystal and to their families and friends for my actions. With regret and sincere apologies, JPJ.”
The apology doesn’t actually address Derek at all so it’s no surprise he had something to say in the comments. “Don’t insult our intelligence…you could reach out on your own instead of on Instagram. This is just an attempt to save face,” he wrote.
JPJ’s time on the show isn’t over yet. Fans will have to wait and see how things end with him this season, but it doesn’t look like he’ll get on better terms with Derek.
