Bachelor Nation Reacts to Joe Amabile and Kendall Long’s Split–’Love Is Dead’
Grocery Store Joe Amabile and Kendall Long got together during season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise. Though they couldn’t make it work in Mexico, Long realized she’d let a good thing go and chased after Amabile when he decided to leave the beach. They were happily together by the time the reunion filmed.
In the past year, Amabile and Long have done a good amount of traveling, they moved in together, they even talked about starting a business with each other in the future. But on January 29, the couple announced their split.
“We have decided mutually to go our separate ways. Joe has made the decision to move back to Chicago while Kendall will be remaining in her hometown of Los Angeles,” they wrote in a statement to Bachelor Nation.
The statement continued: “Our family and friends have always been an extremely important element to who we are as people. We can’t imagine continuing our lives without them closer, especially when thinking of starting a family of our own one day. We both respect each others’ decision and still have a great deal of love for each other. We appreciate all the love and support everyone has given us throughout our relationship.”
Not too long ago Joe Amabile and Kendall Long were talking about getting engaged
Just this past November the couple was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight’s Lauren Zima on “Roses and Rose” where they talked about their future wedding and getting engaged.
“We’ve talked about [getting engaged]. I don’t think either of us are scared of it and I could see it happening in somewhat the near future,” said Amabile.
When he was asked if he had a ring he said: “I don’t. But if any jewelry company wants to reach out, call me.”
How Bachelor Nation feels about Joe Amabile and Kendall Long’s breakup
Much of Bachelor Nation is heartbroken over the news.
“Joe & Kendall split up. Love is dead,” tweeted one fan along with a GIF of Tyra Banks famously shouting, “I was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you!”
One fan responded to a tweet that asked: “alright ladies what are we crying about tonight,” with a tweet that read: “Joe & Kendall RIP.”
“Grocery store Joe & Kendall broke up and I am not okay,” wrote another sad Bachelor fan.
However, not all fans are mourning. Some felt the two were never a great fit.
“Seriously who actually thought grocery store Joe & Kendall we’re going to last??? She was never that into him. She did not treat him the way he should have been treated. He’s better off without her,” tweeted one fan.
And some fans are just excited Grocery Store Joe is back on the market.
“Hey @AmabileJoe hope all is well. just reaching out to tell you that i am free this saturday to hangout. again i am free this saturday, or any day actually. just let me know. i am free,” tweeted one fan.
