Former Bachelor Nick Viall Begins His Acting Career, Knows Expectations Are Low

It’s typical for Bachelor and Bachelorette alums to go on to start a business or become an Instagram influencer after their time on the show. But it’s a little less common for a franchise alum to dip their toes into the world of acting after getting their start on reality TV.

Nick Viall’s done just about everything a Bachelorette alum can do. He became the bachelor, he went on Bachelor In Paradise, he sells stuff on Instagram, he even started a Bachelor-themed podcast. What’s left for a reality star to do? Give acting a go!

Nick Viall’s next acting project, ‘The Coop’

Viall will be starring in the upcoming eko exclusive eight-episode interactive series made in partnership with Funny or Die called The Coop. He’s playing a reality TV star.

The Coop creator, Nora Kirkpatrick told Us Weekly that the show is “Big Brother meets Clue.”

This isn’t Viall’s first go at acting. He previously appeared on episodes of Teachers and Speechless and played himself on General Hospital.

Viall told Us Weekly that “it was a lot of fun” working on The Coop.

“I had a lot of fun and got to work with some incredible actors like [Veep’s] Tony Hale and [People of the Earth’s] Brian [Huskey]. It’s great. Just a really cool opportunity and I think it’s really smart comedy and just happy to be a part of it,” he wrote.

He’s not too stressed about meeting audience expectations when it comes to his acting chops, because he feels they’re probably “very low.”

“I assume people have very low expectations when it comes to my acting career so I feel like, nowhere to go but up!” he said.

Nick Viall was ‘wonderful’ to work with on set, according to the show’s creator

But Kirkpatrick told the publication that Viall did “wonderful” work on The Coop.

“He was wonderful and very talented. A joy to work with,” she said. “He was there on set 100 percent as an actor. He did a wonderful, wonderful job.”

Eventually, Viall hopes his fans will focus on what he’s working on (like acting or his podcast) instead of who he is or isn’t dating.

He told the publication he can’t wait for the day when “people care more about my acting career or podcasts or other things I’m doing rather than who I’m not dating. That would be great.”
