‘The Bachelor’: Peter Weber’s Breakup Advice Hits Harder After His Split With Madison Prewett and Hannah Ann Sluss
Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor was anything but perfect, especially when you consider how things ended with the 28-year-old’s ex-fianccée, Hannah Ann Sluss, and ex-girlfriend, Madison Prewett. Then in a recent Q&A on his Instagram Story, Weber shared breakup advice with his 2.1 million followers. And quite frankly, it looks like Pilot Pete learned plenty from his journey on the ABC reality series.
Peter Weber breaks off his engagement to Hannah Ann Sluss on ‘The Bachelor’
In the first half of The Bachelor Season 24 finale, Prewett left Weber after she acknowledged the differences in their lifestyles and values. The Delta pilot was torn up about the decision but continued filming the show. That said, when Weber had his last date with Sluss the next day, the model could tell something was off in her partner. However, Prewett’s departure and Weber’s true feelings were never truly addressed.
Regardless, Weber decided to get engaged to Sluss. The couple seemed happy while they were in the moment. But one month later, Weber and Sluss met up again after filming and the bachelor said he couldn’t give Sluss his full heart. He broke off the engagement.
During the live Bachelor finale on March 10, Sluss tore into Weber. She called him out for being dishonest about his feelings and for stringing her along. The 23-year-old also revealed Weber had two other women on his mind while they were engaged — Prewett and The Bachelorette’s Hannah Brown.
Finally, Sluss left Weber with some advice. “If you want to be with a woman, you need to become a real man,” she said.
Peter Weber and Madison Prewett break up two days after ‘The Bachelor’ finale
According to Chris Harrison during The Bachelor Season 24 finale, Weber broke things off with Sluss because he still had feelings for Prewett. The host tracked down the Auburn alum and reunited her with the pilot.
Later at the After the Final Rose portion, Weber and Prewett revealed they were still in love with each other. But even so, they did not specify whether they wanted to get back together. Rather, the pair shared they wanted a chance to heal and simply take things one step at a time.
All the while, it was clear Prewett did not win approval from the Weber family, who strongly opposed the relationship after the final week of filming. The bachelor’s mom, Barbara, revealed Prewett said she didn’t love Weber and wouldn’t accept a proposal from him.
Nevertheless, about two days after The Bachelor finale, Prewett and Weber announced their breakup on Instagram. “Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further. Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with,” Weber wrote. “But after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure.”
On the other hand, Prewett’s breakup post focused more on their separate journeys ahead. “As Peter and I have decided to go our separate ways, I am confident that we will both move in the direction of our purpose and never forget that God has a plan in all things,” she wrote. “I will always love and respect him. I am convinced our paths were meant to cross and we are both better because they did.”
Peter Weber gives breakup advice on Instagram
On March 22, Weber answered a few fan questions on Instagram. Then when one Bachelor Nation fan asked for advice on being broken up with after a 3-year relationship, Pilot Pete dished out some words of wisdom.
“Breakups are supposed to hurt,” Weber wrote. “But I believe things happen for a reason and you’re one step closer to your person now. You should never want to be with someone that doesn’t want you back the same way.”
Naturally, after everything that happened in The Bachelor Season 24 finale, it’s hard to imagine Weber’s advice didn’t have anything to do with his breakups with Prewett and Sluss. As hinted by Barb during After the Final Rose, Prewett’s feelings toward Weber did not seem as strong as his own. Meanwhile, Weber was on the opposite end when it came to his relationship with Sluss.
Regardless, it appears all three parties — Weber, Prewett, and Sluss — are moving on from their time on The Bachelor. And if it wasn’t obvious by now, that’s probably for the best.
