‘The Bachelor’ Promo Teases Peter Weber and Apparently Windmill Season Isn’t Over Yet
A new era of The Bachelor has officially begun. On the evening of Nov. 13, fans finally received an official Bachelor promo for Peter Weber’s season after patiently waiting through the seemingly neverending drought. And to no one’s surprise, ABC managed to reference Pilot Pete’s championing moment on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette — with a giant windmill.
ABC releases the first official promo for Peter Weber’s season of ‘The Bachelor’
In the first promo for Weber’s season of The Bachelor, fans get a glimpse of the 28-year-old’s next adventure. The clip opens with a shot of an airplane as “Feeling Good” plays in the background. A single CGI rose petal floats into the frame and as the song reached its climax, a windmill appears.
Weber comes out of the windmill, red rode in hand. And yeah, the Delta Airlines pilot looks as charming as ever. We’re just surprised the network didn’t have him film the promo in full-on uniform.
Regardless, it appears ABC is still cashing in on Weber’s windmill sex with Brown. “He’s not your run of the mill type of guy,” the caption reads. “The Bachelor premieres January on ABC.”
Why is there a windmill in Peter Weber’s promo trailer for ‘The Bachelor’?
For anyone who doesn’t remember what happened with Brown, Weber, and the windmill, here’s the full rundown. Throughout Brown’s reign as The Bachelorette, she dealt with a plethora of toxic masculinity, namely from Luke Parker.
On a Fantasy Suite date, Parker tried to talk to Brown about sex. However, it appeared Parker shamed Brown for having sex with other contestants while on The Bachelorette. And as a result, Parker was eliminated. But not before Brown delivered one of the most iconic quotes in Bachelor Nation history.
“From obviously how you feel, me f*cking in a windmill, you probably wanna leave,” Brown told Parker. “I f*cked in a windmill. And guess what? We did it a second time.”
Later, at The Bachelorette reunion special, Brown revealed Weber was her windmill confidante. She also admitted she lied about the number of times they had sex in the Grecian windmill.
“I was a little dishonest about something,” Brown said, per People. “Since it’s out there, and I did say there was something that Peter and I did twice … it was actually four times.”
What to expect when Peter Weber’s season of ‘The Bachelor’ is released
Naturally, after Brown and Weber’s windmill sex on The Bachelorette, fans wondered if they were going to receive a steamy season. But with The Bachelor promo hinting at more windmill action than Weber’s quest for love, it seems many viewers are already tired of the network’s marketing strategy.
“This just seems…tacky,” one Reddit user wrote. “Why keep bringing up the 4x in a windmill with Hannah when it’s supposed to be about him finding a wife?”
“And we’ve gone from Virgin to Had Sex 4 Times in a Windmill,” another fan wrote.
Nevertheless, fans will just have to wait and see how The Bachelor Season 24 actually turns out, especially since the only official news that has come out involves Weber’s face injury.
“Peter suffered a freak accident,” host Chris Harrison wrote on Oct. 8, via Instagram. “He got a cut on his head, he did get stitches but he’s 100% OK and production is already back underway. He’s still the dashing, handsome pilot we’ve all dreamed of.”
Now with confirmation that Weber is doing just fine after his accident, fans can simply look forward to Pilot Pete’s tenure as the next bachelor on Monday, Jan. 6. And of course, he’s ready to dive in.
“I feel emotional right now. This is crazy. This is life-changing. I have truly, my entire life, looked forward to finding my girl, and that first person that I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with,” Weber said at The Bachelorette reunion, per People. “I have all the faith in the world that this can work for me, and I know it’s going to.”
