‘The Bachelor’: Who Is Kelsey Weier? Peter Weber’s Contestant Starts ‘Champagne Gate’
Peter Weber‘s season of The Bachelor is coming around the windmill. And of course, this means fans are itching to find out every detail from now until Jan. 6, 2020. Luckily, ABC has already released official Bachelor bios for each contestant, including one for Kelsey Weier, who is bound to grab your attention starting night one.
Who is Kelsey Weier on Peter Weber’s season of ‘The Bachelor’?
According to Weier’s Bachelor profile on ABC, the 28-year-old is a professional clothier from Des Moines, Iowa, and she described her personality as “fiesty and stubborn.” Weier is also one of many pageant alums entering Weber’s season, as she was crowned Miss Iowa in 2017 and competed in the Miss USA pageant.
“Coming from the pageant world, Kelsey is an old pro at competing with other women, but don’t get it twisted, she’s not looking for drama,” Weier’s bio reads.
Meanwhile, it seems Weier is ready to dive right into Weber’s arms.
“Kelsey has had her share of relationship issues in the past, but thanks to frequent Pilates classes, she’s in peak physical and spiritual form!” Weier’s ABC bio reads. “She’s hoping to find a partner to travel the world, experience new cultures and enjoy a good glass of red wine with. At 28, she has presumably lived more life than many of the other girls and knows what she wants: Peter Weber.”
Does Kelsey Weier have siblings?
The network’s website also revealed Weier has two siblings — a fraternal twin sister, Kayla, and younger sister, Kalason. And Weier previously opened up about her struggles with confidence as she grew up comparing herself to her twin.
“As I got older I started to look at what made me special and different from her, instead of looking at what she was better at than me,” Weier said, per the Miss Universe website. “Confidence is a hard thing to develop. For me, it has taken many years and a lot of self-reflecting to get to where I am today. When I start to compare myself to others I quickly remind myself of the positives in my life, and what makes me special.”
Then in a Miss USA profile from 2017, Weier shared how growing up in a single-parent household made her stronger.
“My mom had to raise three girls by herself and I don’t know how she did it,” she said. “I don’t think I would be as strong and to be able to handle some of the pressures that come with pageants if it wasn’t for her and seeing how she handled the pressures of all she had to deal with. I have so much love and appreciation and respect for her. And she has taught me how to be a strong and independent woman.”
Chris Harrison says Kelsey Weier is ‘one to watch’ on ‘The Bachelor’
On Dec. 16, Bachelor Nation host Chris Harrison officially introduced all 30 women in Weber’s season, including Weier.
“Former Miss Iowa and definitely one to watch,” Harrison said. “Obviously beautiful, you see by the picture there.”
He then revealed Weier is “one of the most emotional women from the cast.”
“She coined the phrase ‘crying is cool’ — ‘hashtag crying is cool,'” Harrison continued. “I think Ashley [Iaconetti] actually owns the intellectual property of ‘crying is cool.’ Kelsey, you can’t steal that, I’m sorry.”
The host also teased that Weier is involved with “Champagne Gate.” But fans will just have to buckle up and see what happens.
“Wait until you see Champagne Gate,” Harrison said. “A little bit of a spoiler alert on this Champagne Gate 2019, it’s unbelievable. You might think to yourself, ‘This might be the most ridiculous thing. How am I watching this?’ And there’s no way you won’t watch it. It’s awesome. When we’re sitting there in the control room going, ‘I can’t believe this is happening,’ you’re gonna enjoy this.”
Meanwhile, Weier posted a photo on Instagram to announce her Bachelor Nation debut. And the former Miss Iowa echoed Harrison’s statements. So stay tuned.
“Secrets out! Tune in on January 6th to watch the premiere of #TheBachelor on #abc! Heard it’s going to be poppin,” Weier wrote.
