‘The Bachelorette’: Clare Crawley Defends Dale Moss After Her Cast’s Comments in the Season 16 Promo Trailer
The Bachelorette fans saw sparks when Clare Crawley met Dale Moss in the season 16 premiere. When Dale got out of the limo Crawley stated she “just met her husband.” Of course, viewers will just have to wait and see how the storyline actually unfolds. But even so, The Bachelorette Season 16 promo trailer highlighted clips of Crawley’s cast claiming Dale isn’t who we think he is. Then recently, the Sacramento hairdresser shared her thoughts on those comments.
What happened to Clare Crawley and Dale Moss in ‘The Bachelorette’ Season 16 premiere?
The Bachelorette Season 16 premiere started off like any other. Crawley met her cast, and the introductions went from the sweet to the ridiculous. But Dale’s limo entrance stood out above the rest.
After Dale gave Crawley a hug and walked into the La Quinta Resort and Spa, the new bachelorette gushed over her contestant to production. “I knew it,” Crawley said, beaming. “I definitely felt like I just met my husband. Oh my god. I’m shaking.”
Then Chris Harrison came out and asked Crawley about her remarks. “Every other guy, I felt confident with,” she explained to the host. “But with Dale, everything else went dark around me. I don’t even know what I said. Did I sound OK? Did I say anything at all?”
The 39-year-old also revealed she’d never felt this way before. But she was still willing to continue the process. “I know what I want. I know when I feel that feeling,” Crawley said. “Obviously, I’d love to meet everybody. But man.”
Then in a confessional, Crawley added, “Coming into this, I didn’t know if my man would be here or not. And when Dale stepped out of the limo, it took my breath away.”
‘The Bachelorette’ Season 16 cast calls out Dale Moss in the promo trailer
Clearly, Crawley was smitten by Dale on the first night of The Bachelorette. She also gave the contestant her first impression rose. However, the season trailer suggested Dale will be questioned by Crawley’s cast.
“You’re phony, you’re fraudulent, you’re artificial, you’re everything fake,” Ed said as the promo jumped to Dale looking a little uncomfortable. “The cameras are here. You’re a completely different person.”
As of now, we don’t know whether or not Ed actually confronted Dale. Editors could have simply spliced the shots together to make it seem like the men will face off. But then another cast member chimed in. “It’s only a matter of time before Clare realizes the truth,” a contestant said. “That Dale’s maybe not who Clare thinks he is.”
At this point, The Bachelorette has wrapped filming for some time. So what does Crawley think of this moment in the trailer now? In an interview with Entertainment Tonight published on Oct. 14, Crawley was asked whether she knew the real Dale. And the bachelorette had no doubts about her contestant’s authenticity.
“Absolutely, I knew the Dale that was in front of my face,” she said.
Crawley then hinted at what might’ve happened with Dale on the show. She said:
I’ve experienced it before in the past where you’re not there for bromances, you’re not there for anything more than that. I know, to some, it can sound harsh, but it’s the reality of it. That’s the fun part about it — the bromances or the friendships. That is innately going to be apart of it. But ultimately, you want to find love. And how [Dale] is to my face, that’s what I care about. I’m sure there’s a lot of stuff that he shared with me — that a lot of guys shared with me — that he didn’t share with the other guys.
Clare Crawley didn’t know her cast considered walking out
Now, the beef with Dale isn’t the only alleged drama the cast will face during The Bachelorette Season 16. In the promo trailer, a few contestants considered walking out of the show. However, when Entertainment Tonight asked about the clip, Crawley admitted she had no knowledge that her cast quit at any point in the season.
“The truth is, I didn’t see that part,” Crawley said. “That was news to me. I did not see that.”
That said, the preview indicated the bachelorette was the one who left early. “I didn’t expect the process to be cut short,” Riley said. Then Blake Moynes confirmed, “Clare’s gone. I haven’t really comprehended what’s really going on.”
For now, we’ll just have to wait for the events from The Bachelorette trailer to unravel. But it seems Crawley is still Team Dale. Meanwhile, it’s unlikely the cast walks out — at least while Crawley is the lead. So stay tuned.
