‘Bachelorette’ Fans Are Actually Supporting Luke Parker on Instagram

Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette is almost over, and the moment we’ve all been waiting for finally occurred. Since the very beginning, we’ve known Brown to be a strong, free-thinking woman who’s open about her sexuality — and controversial contestant Luke Parker wasn’t having it. After an explosive argument regarding what Brown was doing with other men, Parker was sent home. And while fans seemed to really dislike Parker when the show first began, he’s actually attained quite a few supporters even after the blow-up.

Here’s what Parker’s supporters are saying on Instagram now that everything that occurred is out in the open.

Fans have been completely divided over Parker from the very beginning, and his spat with Brown while sitting at the dinner table was the last straw for her. Entertainment Tonight reminds us Parker began the conversation by telling Brown that he thought they were on the same page when it came to their thoughts on sexual intimacy. “If you told me you had sex with one or multiple of these guys, then I’d be wanting to go home, 100%,” he told her. Unfortunately for Parker, Brown didn’t take well to what he had to say.

“The way that you just said that, it’s like, why do you have the right to do that because you’re not my husband,” she told him. Later in the conversation, she even fired back, “I’m a grown woman and can make my own decisions, and I’m not strapped to a man right now!”

The conversation got even worse when Parker mentioned that Brown “owes” him another chance. “I don’t owe you anything at this point! Do you not understand that? I have bent over backwards for this relationship, so I don’t owe you anything.” Finally, after declaring she had sex in a windmill with one of the other men, she sent Parker packing.

The two also duked it out on Twitter

While the actual conversation between Parker and Brown happened months ago, Parker still took to his Twitter after the episode aired to share how he felt about the whole thing. As E! News reports he tweeted, “@AlabamaHannah. The difference in how we view sin is seen in the response. I’m weeping at mine and you’re laughing at yours. All sin stings. My heart hurts for both of us.” Unfortunately, Brown didn’t take his condemnation lightly. “@luke_parker777 time and time again Jesus loved and ate with ‘sinners’ who laughed. And time and time again he rebuked ‘saints’ that judged. Where do you fall Luke?” she replied back.

Parker then went on to accuse Brown of calling sin “a laughing matter.” She then responded with, “I have never said that I find my sin funny. I’m not going to [be] lectured on appropriate emotional responses by a guy who threw deli meat in a guy’s lap.”

Luke Parker has plenty of supporters on Instagram, however

Plenty of Bachlorette contestants have felt the wrath of the public once their dirty laundry was aired. Surprisingly, Parker still has plenty of fans despite what was said on the show. As he wrote on Instagram, “As for my time on the show I made mistakes and no I’m not perfect (crazy right) I didn’t totally behave as the man I want to be and I did not represent Christ the way I thought I was prepared to and that has broken me.” And many took to the comments to show their support.

“Hold your head high-there is someone out there that is far greater than your imagination and exactly who the Lord has for you!” one of Parker’s followers commented. And another added, “You represented Christ well actually. SHE on the other hand is a wolf.” Yet another commented, “Luke, you hold your standards high! Proud of your stand for Christ, keep doing you!”

It looks like we may be seeing more of Parker in the future, too, though we’ll have to wait until next week to find out what happens.
