‘Bachelorette’ Hannah Brown Reportedly Saved a Man From Drowning
Former bachelorette Hannah Brown has been under intense scrutiny in recent weeks for saying the N-word while singing a song in an Instagram Live video. She has since apologized and promised to “listen, learn, and take action to continue the dialogue and be apart of this historical and necessary change.”
Since then, Brown’s Instagram feed has been focused on the Black Lives Matter movement (including one celebratory post in honor of Matt James being named the first-ever Black bachelor). Before Brown said the N-word on Instagram, she was an open book, updating her fans on the smallest of details in her day. But the former bachelorette is taking a break from her regular content focus on what matters, and many of her fans appreciate her for it.
Hannah Brown saved a man from drowning while river rafting
So last weekend when Hannah Brown reportedly saved a man from drowning, there was no mention of it on her social media. But the girlfriend of the man who almost drowned wrote about the incident on Twitter.
“How fun Hannah Brown saved my boyfriend from drowning in the Ocoee River today,” wrote the Twitter user.
“She was on the river with us our raft flipped and her and her family were on the trip with us she ended up pulling my bf onto their raft after the current took him. I didn’t know who she was but her mom said she had just won DWTS and that she was the bachelorette!” they continued.
“All @hannahbrown kick boxing sessions have helped her strength to pull a grown man back on the raft. That’s not easy that’s happened when we were white water rafting and we needed the guide to grab them back in,” one person replied to the thread, to which the original poster wrote, “She is strong!!”
Hannah Brown’s river guide says the former bachelorette also saved her dad
The Browns’ guide posted on a YouTube video reporting on the incident with additional information.
“I was the family’s river guide! They were all great people and great paddlers. Sometimes things don’t go as planned on the river. Her and the family definitely helped the people in the flipped raft. She also grabbed her dad from underwater to the surface to get him back in the raft when her, her brother and dad all swam later downstream taking a technical move on the river,” they wrote.
They continued: “I thought what she did then was incredibly bad*ss but that didn’t get mentioned. Awesome family. Epic trip! Great paddlers and rafters! Super down to earth genuine people!”
Though Brown didn’t post about the incident, her brother Patrick did.
“Took on the rapids with the fam jam! I got to relive my lifeguard days and Hannah thinks she’s apart of the Coast Guard now… #rescuemission Check out @ocoee_watersports for a killer time,” he captioned the post.
